Marc Tadelman, who led Crystal Lake Central to its first Fox Valley Conference title last season, is the new wrestling coach at New Trier.

Tadelman's hiring, announced this week by Trevians athletic director Randy Oberembt, still must be approved by the New Trier school board at its July 14 meeting. Tadelman replaces Augie Fontenatta, who resigned to become AD at Fremd.

The new Trevians coach spent the last 12 years at Crystal Lake Central after one season at Oak Park. With Central, he had a 125-120 dual-meet record, including 53-18 over the past four seasons.

The Tigers went 20-1 last winter and had one Class AA state placer: Ryan Jauch, who was fourth at 119 pounds.

Tadelman will teach in the Kinetic Wellness (PE) department at New Trier.

The Trevians have won three regionals in the past four seasons.
