CLASS 4A REGIONAL FINALS

BENET

Benet 7, Plainfield Central 2: Nora McGuire belted a three-run homer for Benet (27-10). Julianne Rurka also homered for the Redwings.

CONANT

Leyden 4, Conant 1: Morgan Maize earned the win for Leyden and hit two homers while driving in four.

DE LA SALLE

Richards 15, De La Salle 5: Danielle Kappel powered Richards (30-2), going 2-for-2 with a three-run homer and five RBI. Hannah Jenkins finished 3-for-4 with a three-run homer. Brianna LeBeau went 3-for-5 and also hit a three-run homer to go with four RBI. Kristina Apato had three hits.

DOWNERS SOUTH

Downers South 11, Neuqua Valley 7: Marissa Mersch went 3-for-4 with three RBI for the Mustangs (27-6). Aleisha Bozek (2-for-4, three runs) and Chelsea Lavin (2-for-2, two RBI, three runs) also contributed offensively.

EVANSTON

Lane 7, Niles North 5: Kaleigh Ambrose had a home run and four RBI to power Lane (24-13). Hailey Pieruccini went 3-for-3 with two runs. Emily Espinosa had a hit and two runs.

GLENBARD NORTH

West Chicago 3, Glenbard North 0: Mary Connolly allowed two hits and struck out nine to earn the win for West Chicago (21-10) over the host Panthers. Connolly went 2-for-3 with a homer and two runs.

HERSEY

Lake Zurich 7, Carmel 1: Megan Mattera pitched a complete-game three-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead Lake Zurich.

HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR

Homewood-Flossmoor 4, Stagg 1: Sarah Burke allowed one earned run and struck out five for Homewood-Flossmoor (19-14). Kaitlyn Shereyk hit two home runs and drove in three.

PROVISO WEST

Elk Grove 4, Glenbard West 2: Dani Goranson allowed eight hits and struck out five to earn the win for the Grenadiers. Elisa Payne had two RBI.

REAVIS

Trinity 8, Reavis 4: Nicole Evans and Chase Machain (2-for-3, three RBI) hit back-to-back home runs to spark the Blazers (29-3) to victory. Gianna Coduti contributed two hits, an RBI and three runs. Machain (20-2) threw a complete-game seven-hitter to earn the win.

RESURRECTION

New Trier 9, Loyola 0: Winning pitcher Brigit Ieuter allowed one hit and struck out 12 to lift New Trier (20-11). Raechel Cloud went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI.

ST. CHARLES EAST

St. Charles North 11, Lake Park 1: Amanda Ciran earned the win for St. Charles North. Taylor Russell went 3-for-3.

SHEPARD

Sandburg 7, Minooka 0: Sandburg: Lora Olson threw a complete-game three-hit shutout, striking out nine to lead Sandburg.

ZION-BENTON

Barrington 4, Zion-Benton 0: Kiley Dolezal earned the complete-game shutout win, allowing one hit and striking out eight for Barrington.

CLASS 3A REGIONAL FINALS

GRAYSLAKE NORTH

Grayslake North 6, Wauconda 0: Winning pitcher Kristina Gandy tossed a three-hitter and went 1-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Knights. Kelsey Borders crushed a two-run homer while Jordyn Bowen and Christina Freese each added a hit.

NAZARETH

Nazareth 11, St. Joseph 1: Holly Haberkorn went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and four RBI to lift Nazareth (18-16) over the Chargers. Shannon Cawley was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer.

T.F. NORTH

Oak Forest 10, Hillcrest 0: Winning pitcher Emily Norton and Colleen Sherwood combined for a perfect game leading the Bengals past Hillcrest. Norton also went 3-for-3 with an RBI and run at the plate. Emily Naegele had two hits and two runs and Gianna Kuras contributed a pair of RBI.

QUEEN OF PEACE

St. Francis 5, Queen of Peace 0: Taylor Ronchetto pitched a two-hit complete game against the Pride. Paige Davis had a double and two RBI.
