Saints probe shows ‘inconsistencies‘

An independent review of the St. Charles East athletic department has identified inconsistencies with the school’s process for evaluating coaches, an unequal booster club apparatus and specific concerns regarding the school’s boys basketball, baseball and drill teams as the primary issues to address going forward.
The review, conducted by Douglas Chapman and Gerald Chapman at the request of District 303 superintendent Donald Schlomann, was released Friday in the latest chapter of what has been a tumultous spring for the St. Charles East athletics program.
