1. New Trier

Defending singles champ Robert Stineman and senior Jared Hiltzik, part of a doubles team that finished third last year, are joined by the brothers Nate and Rob Jacobson. Coach Tad Eckert has at his command a number of talented players, including Hitoshi Kawashima, back from injury, and three very talented freshmen in Aron Hiltzik, Thomas Fawcett and Alex Galoustian.

2. Deerfield

The Warriors feature three excellent singles players in defending third-place finisher David Brown, state qualifier Toby Ma and Ben Shklyar. Alec Siegal, Jeremy Jacobson and Jack Kasbeer offer depth.

3. Highland Park

Coach Stephen Rudman returns the foundation of last year's team, keyed by doubles' stars David Zak and Zach Brint, runners-up last year. Tyler Manci, Jordan Hainsfurther and Tom Haile are the singles' players to see.

4. Oak Park

The Huskies return the nucleus of last year's team that finished third in the state meet. Seniors Devin Jones, Jake Wilson, Eric Bruynseels are talented singles players. Juniors Luke Trinka and Tim McAdam are also skilled and talented.

5. Stevenson

Sophomore state qualifier Jeremy Bush returns. The equally important story is the return, following a junior hiatus, of David Packowitz and Ross Putterman, two-time doubles' runners-up. Brian Kim adds depth as well.

6. Hinsdale Central

The Red Devils suffered serious losses from the group that won three state titles and finished runner-up last year. "We need to learn to win again with this group," coach John Naisbitt said. They look to reload behind singles players Rafe Mosetick, Sam Bloom, Griffin Johns and sophomore doubles team of Alex Hagermoser and Peter Heneghan.

7. Glenbrook South

Returning state qualifiers Michael Sellitto and Michael Levin lead the Titans. Freshman Sam Hoogland and senior Konrad Ryba are two promising singles players.

8. St. Charles North

The North Stars hope to improve on their top ten state finish. John Mittvick, Parker Featherston and Danny Oakes are the headliners.

9. Naperville North

Behind Gordon Zhang, a top-ten finisher in singles, the Huskies are aiming for another top-ten state finish.

10. Neuqua Valley

Patrick Carpio, part of a state doubles qualifier, and singles players Tyler Wall, return for the Wildcats, who finished eighth in the state last year.
