First Team
Kelly Grassel
Chesterton junior
By the Numbers: Averaged 36.33 for 9 holes and 72 for 18 holes
Raves: The three-time P-T Player of the Year is the first girls golfer ever from Northwest Indiana to win individual state title. She finished second individually at sectional and regional.
Marissa Kroeger
Chesterton junior
By the Numbers: Averaged 43.25 for nine holes and 84.82 for 18 holes
Raves: A solid number two player for the Trojans, probably a No. 1 on most teams, she shot 89 and 86 at sectional and regional respectively. She had the second best two-day total for Chesterton at the state finals (82-92).
Harley Dubsky
Valparaiso sophomore
By the Numbers: Averaged even par 36 for nine holes and 73 for 18 holes; medalist at Valparaiso Sectional after shooting 72 at Valparaiso Country Club
Raves: The second-best player in the DAC, she finished 10th individually in the state tournament. She was the only individual to make the second-day cut at state and she was the medalist 13 times this season.
Stephanie Drake
Chesterton senior
By the Numbers: Averaged 45.5 for nine holes and 87.36 for 18 holes; shot an 87 at sectional and 93 at regional
Raves: She finished as an all-DAC player for Trojans and shot 87 and 88 at the state finals.
Nicole Dutz
Chesterton junior
By the Numbers: Averaged 45.0 for nine holes and 86.18 for 18
Raves: She shot a solid 83 at the LaPorte Regional. Another all-DAC player for Chesterton, she’s one of three all-area players returning next year for Chesterton.
Second Team
Arian Mendez-Sota
LaPorte junior
By the Numbers: Averaged 44 for nine holes and 94 for 18 holes
Raves: The foreign exchange student from Spain was named to the All DAC team. Her round of 83 at the LaPorte Regional earned her a spot in the state finals where she shot 87.
Jennifer Gough
Valparaiso freshman
By the Numbers: Averaged 43 for nine holes and 87 for 18; had a low nine-hole round of 40
Raves: She made the all-DAC team and she was perhaps the best freshman in the area. She shot 82 at the Pat Ford Invitational at Beechwood.
Allison Banasiak
Highland senior
By the Numbers: Averaged 48 for nine holes and 86 for 18 holes; took medalist honors at the NCC meet with an 84
Raves: Became the first player from Highland ever to qualify for the state finals after earning low individual qualifier at Lost Marsh Sectional with 90. She shot 93 in her state finals round.
Luccia Bracco
Crown Point junior
By the Numbers: Averaged 43.5 for nine holes outside of the DAC and 45.3 for nine holes in the DAC; averaged 88.15 for 18 holes
Raves: All-DAC talent, she split CP’s No. 1 spot with Alyssa Harvey for most of the year. She shot 84 at the Lost Marsh Sectional and 89 at the LaPorte Regional.
Alyssa Harvey
Crown Point freshman
By the Numbers: Averaged 43.7 in the DAC and 43.5 outside the DAC; had an 18-hole average of 85.1
Raves: A solid freshman, her and Jennifer Gough of Valparaiso are equally as good. She shot 85 at the Lost Marsh Sectional and 89 at the LaPorte Regional.
