Class 2A
Highland Regional

Schedule: Crown Point (14-4) vs. Munster (11-7-1), 5 p.m., Valparaiso (14-3) vs. Lake Central (12-4), 7 p.m., Wednesday; final, 2 p.m., Saturday

Skinny: Crown Point defeated Munster 2-0 on Sept. 29. The Bulldogs won their only regional title in 2003, while the Mustangs won their second in 2009. Valparaiso edged Lake Central 2-1 in overtime on Sept. 20. The Vikings have won six regional titles, most recently in 2007. The Indians own 10 titles, tied for the fourth most in the state, including four straight from 2005 to ’08. Crown Point defeated Lake Central 2-0 on Aug. 16, and lost 1-0 to fellow DAC tri-champion Valparaiso 1-0 on Sept. 13.

Class 1A
Argos Regional

Schedule: Argos (13-6) vs. Hanover Central (15-1), 6 p.m., Saturday

Skinny: Hanover Central is riding high after winning its first sectional title. The Wildcats’ only loss this season has come to Griffith. Argos won a regional title under the one-class format in 2000.
