Loyola rolls past Fenwick

Malcolm Weaver threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns and defensive lineman Michael Scott returned an interception 27 yards for a score as No. 4 Loyola beat Fenwick 47-7 on Friday at Morton West.
Fenwick sniffed out Loyola’s fake punt early to go ahead 7-0 on quarterback Pat Hart’s two-yard run midway through the first quarter.
But that was about all the Friars (3-4) could do Friday as the Ramblers (7-0) scored five TDs to go into the break up 33-7.
“They caught us off guard, and we got a little overwhelmed,” said senior linebacker Michael Paloian, whose pressure in the backfield allowed Scott to pick off the pass for the touchdown. “We just had to get our mindset right and make faster reads.”
Paloian also recovered a fumble and was in on two sacks.
“He’s a beast,” Loyola coach John Holecek said. “He’s a tough kid and mean. I hope he keeps doing the things he’s been doing.”
