Morrow the difference for Hales

Hales 28, Leo 8: Joe Morrow scored on a 98-yard reception and an 84-yard run in the third quarter to break open the Catholic League Red opener for both teams at Gately.

Hales quarterback Chris Walker (7-for-11, 187 yards) also threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Willie Allen, who added three interceptions on defense for the Spartans (1-1, 1-0).

Hales jumped out to an 8-0 lead on a six-yard touchdown run by Andre Anthony.

Kerron Bragg scored on a 37-yard touchdown pass from Jarod Cooper for the Lions (1-1, 0-1).

“I have great receivers and all I did was throw the ball and they were able to run up under them,” Walker said.
