New Trier 10, Warren 7: In a game plagued by penalties and lackluster offenses, visiting New Trier scored the winning touchdown with 21 seconds to play Friday night at Warren. John Nykaza plunged over from the one-yard line to give the Trevians a 10-7 nonconference win.
"Defensively we played with a lot of passion," said New Trier coach Dan Starkey.
Warren's new quarterback Bob Boesch had his first pass taken to the house by Mitch Munda. The 41-yard catch gave the No. 11 Blue Devils a quick 7-0 lead. Scott Schoder's 25-yard field goal cut the Warren lead to 7-3.

King 34, Young 26: Devon Robinson rushed for 263 yards and four touchdowns and Kendal Harris completed a 23-yard touchdown pass to Robert Jones with 35 seconds left for King (1-0).
"As a leader I had to carry our team," Robinson said.
Terry Baggett (15 carries, 135 yards) rushed for his third score of the game on a seven-yard run to give Young (0-1) a 26-18 lead with 3:30 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Robinson had a 53-yard run on the next possession to set up a one-yard touchdown plunge by Harris with 1:06 to play. Robinson then punched in the two-point conversion to tie the score at 26. Darold Freeman recovered a fumble with 51 seconds left to set up the winning drive for King.

Marist 48, Urban Prep 6: The quarterback tandem of Ryan Meyer (3 of 4, 57 yards, touchdown) and Luke Oosterbaan (4 of 5, 64 yards, touchdown) plus running back Mike Skalitzky (six carries, 36 yards, touchdown) paced the No. 18 RedHawks (1-0).
Kicker Ben Falloon had field goals of 43 and 40 yards for Marist.
Kejuan Bryant threw a 95-yard scoring pass to Brandon Riley for the Lions (0-1).

De La Salle 44, St. Joseph 13: The No. 25 Meteors (1-0) had a big day from Juwan Martin as he went 4-for-7 with 134 yards and two touchdowns through the air while carrying the ball five times for 159 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Ahmad Evans caught a 56-yard touchdown catch and added a 76-yard punt return for a touchdown. Brandon Wright also returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown for De La Salle.
Elk Grove 41, Niles North 0: Nick Meyer was 13-for-18 for 238 yards and three touchdowns while also carrying the ball three times for 89 yards and two touchdowns to lead the No. 13 Grenadiers.
Homewood-Flossmoor 33, Marian Catholic 14: Tim Williams was 9-for-12 for 135 yards and two touchdowns while Malik Norman had 21 carries for 171 yards and a touchdown to lead the Vikings (1-0). Gerald Butler had five catches for 89 yards and a touchdown as well for Homewood-Flossmoor.
Kaneland 37, Burlington Central 22: Joe Camilere was 15-for-32 for 114 yards and three touchdowns through the air while also rushing for 69 yards and a touchdown on seven carries for Kaneland.
Longwood 44, Luther North 0: Stephan Dumars had three touchdowns to lead Longwood.
Mather 36, Steinmetz 12: Raahsaan Fox grabbed an 11-yard touchdown catch, ran for a 65-yard touchdown and also returned a kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown to lead Mather (1-0).
Morton 20, Reavis 6: Jeremy Keys rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries to lead Morton.
North Shore 25, Mooseheart 0: Steve Smith went 26-for-40 for 265 yards a touchdown and an interception for North Shore (1-0, 1-0) in the Northeastern Athletic win.
Prairie Ridge 55, Woodstock 0: Jordan Getzelman rushed for two touchdowns and caught two more from quarterback Steven Covalt to lead the Wolves. Matt Mugnai, Luke Lamar and Collin Corcoran each had interceptions for Prairie Ridge.
Sandwich 34, Westmont 14: Tim Schmidt rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns to lead Sandwich.
Senn 46, Lincoln Park 0: Quinell Johnson was 4-for-4 with 106 yards and four touchdowns to lead Senn past Lincoln Park. Jermaine Baker (two receptions, 76 yards, two touchdowns) and Rayshaun Roberts (two receptions, two touchdowns) caught the touchdown passes while Cody Gillard (three carries, 62 yards, two touchdowns) did the damage on the ground.
Gillard also had a 78-yard interception return for a touchdown while Yusef Mohammed (11 tackles, four sacks) and Greavon Williams (14 tackles, sack) also contributed on defense.
Stevenson 42, Highland Park 7: Anthony Bozin scored three touchdowns to lead the Patriots.
T.F. North 36, Stagg 12: Calvin Lindsey rushed 11 times for 70 yards and two touchdowns while Devonte Stevenson added 180 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown for the Meteors.
Yorkville 41, Streator 6:Maxwell Brusveen had three field goals (31, 45 and 50 yards) for Yorkville.
