Monday's boys volleyball roundup
Lake Park d. Lyons 25-18, 25-13: The No. 7 Lancers (13-2) cruised to a nonconference victory led by Trace Szczygiel (eight kills, six aces) and Eddie Keesecker (six kills, three blocks). Matt Ciaglia had five kills and three blocks.
Sandburg d. Stagg 25-6, 25-14: Bill Siroky had 11 kills and three blocks for No. 1 Sandburg (12-2). Adam Davids and Kenny Payonk contributed four kills apiece.
Andrew d. Lockport 25-14, 27-25: Paul Bilanzic (nine kills, four blocks) and Jimmy Boyce (25 assists, five digs) lifted Andrew (10-8) over the Porters.
Lincoln-Way Central d. Homewood-Flossmoor 25-11, 25-18: Brad Foster (seven kills) and Sean Blackwood (five kills) led Lincoln-Way Central. Jake Marotta and Ben Mueller added four kills apiece and Alex Severson had six blocks and seven digs. Matt Dugan dished out 13 assists and Connor Thorp had 10 assists for the Knights (10-6).
Lincoln-Way North d. Joliet Central 25-13, 25-14: Justin Morris had eight kills for Lincoln-Way North.
Loyola d. Niles North 18-25, 25-21, 27-25: Paul Juska led the Ramblers with 17 kills. Chris Bulava contributed 12 kills for the Ramblers.
Montini d. St. Edward 25-15, 25-13: Eric Velkme had 13 kills for Montini (5-8). Ryan Crackel added five kills.
Providence d. Brother Rice 25-22, 22-25, 25-21: Casey Contorno (11 kills) and Marty Ross (10 kills) paced the Celtics (9-4). Tim Becker had 35 digs and Karl Schramm finished with 20 assists.
Riverside-Brookfield d. Fenwick 25-18, 25-15: Ben Bergstrom tallied six kills and seven digs to lead the Bulldogs (11-5). Elliott Louthen contributed three aces and 12 assists.
St. Francis d. St. Charles North 25-23, 25-17: Matt Krese tallied eight kills and John Portone added three kills and three blocks for the Spartans (11-3). Jack Mordell had 17 assists and Jake Tibble two aces. Nick Konchel anchored the defense with six digs.
St. Ignatius d. Mount Carmel 21-25, 25-19, 25-21: Rimas Grybauskas had 11 kills and three digs for St. Ignatius (11-5). Peter Ryckbosch added six kills and eight blocks while Billy Langhenry chipped in eight digs.
Streamwood d. Elgin 26-28, 25-20, 25-18: Streamwood rallied for a three-game victory behind Nick Rice's 15 kills and two aces. Jerrold Ofiana had seven kills, Dan Novak chipped in five kills and Phil Montero dished out 18 assists.
Wheeling d. Glenbrook North 19-25, 25-17. 26-24: Dan Speidel turned in a great effort with 21 assists and 13 digs for Wheeling (8-11).
