PONTIAC, IL -- Nathan Boothe has always been big, tall and wide and imposing. Wednesday at the Pontiac Holiday Tournament the Warren senior displayed some new-found agility in the Blue Devils 71-40 win over Plainfield North.

Boothe, a Toledo recruit, finished with 20 points and seven rebounds and scored 16 in the third quarter on an array of moves.

“I’ve been working on my conditioning,” Boothe said. “I was able to get out there and run a little bit today.”

“Nathan is skilled, he can really shoot the ball,” Warren coach Chuck Ramsey said. “He has range and is a good passer. Now he’s starting to run the floor better and be a little more assertive.”

Warren took control of the game with a 30-8 third quarter.

“That quarter was the best we’ve played all year,” Ramsey said.

Darius Paul finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Blue Devils (8-1) and Mitch Munda added 12 points.

“Warren showed why they are who they are,” Plainfield North coach Nick DiForti said. “We had a couple mental lapses and they took advantage of everything. 30 points in a quarter. That’s what most teams score in a half.”

Jeremy Bert led Plainfield North (3-10) with nine points. Kendal Interial and Trevor Stumpe each scored eight.
