With the Warriors (8-2) trailing 49-48 midway through the fourth quarter, Treadwell found Jordan Perry underneath for a layup.

Perry, who finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, was fouled on the play converted the free throw for the 51-49 advantage. Marvie Keith contributed eight points and a game-high nine assists for the Warriors, helping offset a quiet game by Illinois recruit Michael Orris (four points).

Eldridge Anderson scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots for the Titans (5-5). Vince Gooden scored 14 points and Jon Calhoun added 13 points.

“We survived today,” Cappel said.
