Crete-Monee coach Ryndak fired
Matt Ryndak, the embattled Crete-Monee High School boys varsity basketball coach, was fired Monday night, according to school district Superintendent John Rodgers.
Ryndak, 30, of Dyer, Ind., is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse for allegedly fondling a teenage boy four times last fall.
He was placed on administrative leave in May after the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services informed district officials that DCFS was investigating him.
Ryndak’s employment was terminated June 20 for reasons including “insubordination and morality/ethics,” according to the board’s meeting minutes.
Ryndak came to Crete-Monee as an assistant to head coach Rocky Hill for the 2009-10 season and became head coach and a full-time P.E. teacher this past school year.
