FIRST TEAM

Kyle Anderson Newark

The 6-3 senior guard and University of Delaware recruit was an IBCA and AP All-State selection, averaging 19.9 points in helping lead the Norsemen (33-1) to the IHSA Class 1A State Championship in his fourth season as a varsity starter. He is the school's career scoring leader with 2,279 points.

Ryan Boatright East Aurora

The 5-11 senior guard and Connecticut recruit is the Beacon-News Player of the Year for the third season in a row and an IBCA and AP All-State selection, among others. He averaged area-best 31 points in leading Tomcats to conference and regional titles and an upset of top-ranked and undefeated Benet Academy in the sectional semifinal. He finished with 2,289 career points.

Robert DeMyers Aurora Central

The 6-4 junior forward anchored middle of Chargers' 2-3 zone defense, blocking nearly four shots per game while pulling down 7.3 rebounds. He made great strides on offense throughout the season and averaged 13.1 points and played a key role in ACC's run to the DeKalb Super-Sectional in the Class 3A playoffs.

Elliot McGaughy Oswego

The 6-2 sophomore guard helped trigger the high-octane Panther offense and led the team in scoring (18.1 ppg), assists (5.2 apg) and steals (70). The all-Southwest Prairie Conference and AP honorable mention all-state selection also averaged 6.3 rebounds.

Juwan Starks West Aurora

The 6-4 junior forward continued to improve in his third year on varsity and led the Blackhawks with a 17-point scoring average. He also pulled down 5.5 rebounds on the way to earning unanimous all-DuPage Valley Conference honors. He was all-tournament at the Rock Island Thanksgiving and honorable mention at Pontiac Christmas tournaments.

SECOND TEAM

Wesley Brooks, Oswego East

Senior guard triggered the Wolves' attack, averaging 14 points, four assists and three rebounds on the way to earning Southwest Prairie Conference honors.

Cole Gardner, Batavia

Junior forward averaged 14.4 points and 8.7 rebounds on the way to earning Upstate Eight Conference River honors.

Brandon Hayes, West Aurora

Senior guard was a standout defender who earned DuPage Valley Conference honors after averaging 9.1 points, second best on the team.

Snoop Viser, East Aurora

Senior guard helped ease pressure on Boatright as the Tomcats' second scoring option and earned Upstate Eight Valley honors after averaging 15.2 points.

Ryan West, Oswego

Junior forward was a glutton on the boards, averaging 9.5 while chipping in 15.7 points and 2.9 assists to earn all-conference and Oswego Hoops for Healing Tourney MVP honors.

THIRD TEAM

Jared Brownridge, Waubonsie Valley

Sophomore guard stepped up to lead the Warriors in scoring with a 15.4 average.

Chaon Denlinger, Kaneland

Senior forward developed a more complete offensive game, averaged 13 points per game and was named Northern Illinois Big 12 East Player of the Year after leading Knights to first conference title in 29 years.

Kenny Obendorf, Metea Valley

Junior guard was one of the leaders (14.9 ppg) on a balanced Mustang team that had no seniors but produced wins over established Upstate Eight programs like East Aurora, Neuqua Valley and Waubonsie Valley in its first year of varsity competition.

Dan Trimble, Geneva

The 6-8 swingman led the Vikings in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounding (8.3) on the way to earning Upstate Eight Conference River honors.

Justin Wegener, Sandwich

Senior guard was repeat unanimous all-Interstate Eight selection after averaging 17.8 points and 6.4 rebounds in leading the Indians to 20-win season.

SMALL SCHOOL FIRST TEAM

John Avery, Newark

Senior forward and four-year varsity starter made the all-tournament team at the state finals and third team IBCA All-State after averaging 14.3 points for the state 1A champs.

Dean Danos, Aurora Christian

Junior guard led the Eagles on their run to the Class 2A supersectional with a team-best 19.8 scoring average that also helped him earn second team IBCA All-State honors.

Devin Haws, Plano

Junior guard averaged 13 points and four rebounds on the way to earning Interstate Eight Conference honors as well as all-tournament at Spring Valley Hall and Plano.

Nick Marema, Aurora Christian

Junior guard/forward averaged 12.2 points and 7.9 rebounds and had double-doubles (points, rebounds) in nine of Eagles last 10 games that helped the team's strong postseason run.

Seth Sanderson, Indian Creek

Senior forward averaged 18.1 points and 11.1 rebounds for 20-win regional champs and made fourth team (IBCA) all-state.
