The North Suburban Conference Prairie Division officially became a two-team race on Wednesday when host Vernon Hills took out Lakes 60-46.

The Cougars (13-6, 7-1) and North Chicago (7-1 in the league) each have one league loss and play each other next month for the title. With this result, everybody else is at least two games back in the standings with five to play.

The big key for Vernon Hills on Wednesday was a 14-point game from senior center Brian Berzanski.

Chris Argianas (17) and DaVaris Daniels (15) always score, but it's the third scorer that puts the Cougars over the top.

That trio countered a 20-point night by center Nick Hibbing who nailed four three-pointers.

Lakes (6-14, 4-3) trailed 29-23 at halftime and 42-35 after three quarters.

DuSable 67, Chicago Richards 39: Jermaine Akons finished with 16 points for DuSable (9-8, 5-4 Red-Central).

Foreman 60, Taft 57: Foreman (13-8, 8-1 Red-North) pulled out the overtime win behind George Edwards' 23 points and 20 rebounds. Charles Thornton added eight points and eight assists.

Hyde Park 70, Dunbar 52: Marcellis Davis had 15 points for Hyde Park (19-4, 8-1 Red-Central).

King 60, Harper 53: Darnell Fishback had 20 points and eight rebounds for King (13-8, 6-3 Red-Central) while Chauncey Kennedy added 13 points, seven rebounds and Dante Johnson finished with a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds).

Lake View 79, Rickover 35: Einzarem Vincencio had 25 points and Jared Byrd added 16 for Lake View (9-9, 6-3 Blue-North).

Lincoln Park 76, Uplift 62: Lincoln Park (13-8, 8-1 Red-North) won behind Ramon Ajose's 16 points and Shamar Tucker added 10 in the win.

Lindblom 69, Kelly 59: Justin Johnson had 27 points and Lovell Cates had 20 for Lindblom (17-5, 8-1 Blue Central).

Little Village 92, Tilden 85: Tyrice Stigler and Darrell Townes each had 26 points for Little Village (11-8, 5-4).

Mather 62, Senn 39: Glen Heffernan led Mather (17-4, 7-2 Red-North) with 15 points while Malcolm Black had 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Northridge 71, Morgan Park Academy 26: Mike Leazer finished with 19 points for Northridge (11-8, 6-2 Independent School League).

Northside 75, Sullivan 32: Dan Kasmala compiled 23 points and Taylor Keuhn had 10 for Northside (4-18, 3-7 Blue-North).

Phillips 80, Kennedy 52: Jarvis Robinson had 18 points and Jonathan Lattimore had 15 points and 15 rebounds for Phillips (10-11, 6-3 Blue-Central). Terrell Fonville added 15 points and Isiah Jordan had 11 points, 10 rebounds in the win.

Prosser 71, Payton 45: Tyshaune Turner led Prosser (10-12, 4-5 Red-North): with 21 points, eight assists. Delante Turnage finished with 18 points, eight assists while Terry Keyes (12 points, eight rebounds) and Reggie Hays (10 points, 12 rebounds) also contributed.

Robeson 67, Hubbard 57: Demarcus Head compiled 20 points and 11 boards and Leslie Richards had 16 points and eight assists in the Robeson win.

Roosevelt 58, North Grand 55: LaShawn Wakefield finished with 15 points and eight rebounds for Roosevelt (9-10, 5-4 Blue-North).

Schurz 48, Chicago Academy 45: Francisco Uriostegui finished with 13 points for Schurz (19-3, 8-1 Blue-North) while Devin Weathers added 11 points and four steals in the win.

Steinmetz 54, Amundsen 48: Sammie Gage finished with 16 points and eight to lead Steinmetz (18-3, 9-0 Blue-North).
