FENWICK REGIONAL

De La Salle 13, Fenwick 7: Scott McGurn was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and a double to lead the Meteors past the hosts and into the quarterfinals of the Fenwick Regional. Mike Poluha was 3-for-4 with a double for De La Salle and Alex Padilla got the win.

LIBERTYVILLE REGIONAL

Vernon Hills 10, Crystal Lake Central 4: Tyler Feece pitched an eight-hitter with nine strikeouts and two walks as Vernon Hills moved into the quarterfinals of the Libertyville Regional. Ethan McGrew (3-for-4, 2 doubles, 3 steals, 3 RBI), MJ Crowley (2-for-3, RBI), Chris Marras (3-for-5, RBI), Pat Crowley (3-for-3) and Dylan McNamara (1-for-3, 2 RBI) led the Vernon Hills offense.

RICHARDS REGIONAL

Oak Lawn 12, Shepard 2: Sophomore Matt Dunne (4-0) pitched a three-hitter as the Spartans (15-5) advanced to the quarterfinals of the Richards Regional. Nick Mozwecz (2-for-2, 2 RBI), Cody Marek (2-for-3, 3 runs, 2 RBI) and Alec Barnhart (2-for-4, 3 RBI) contributed offensively for Oak Lawn.

Mount Carmel 13, Evergreen Park 3: Josh Gaal and Beau Filkins (3 hits) both went deep for Mount Carmel. Frank Kelly added three hits for the Caravan.

Richards 8, Argo 3: Jake Kendryna pitched five innings for the win and Rick Palacios slugged a three-run homer to help the host Bulldogs advance to the quarterfinals of their own regional.

St. Laurence 8, Brother Rice 4: Mike Solofra (solo HR, 2 RBI), Mike Kornacker (2 RBI), Luke Babich (run, RBI) and Dan Cronin (2 runs) all contributed for St. Laurence, the top-seeded team in the Richards Regional. Kevin Smith got the win for the Vikings, going the route. Garrett O’Neill had three hits, including two doubles, with two RBI for Brother Rice.

St. Rita 15, Reavis 5: Connor McLain blasted a three-run home run for St. Rita while Jack Konrath got the win for the Mustangs.
