Monday’s summer baseball roundup

Lincoln-Way Central 7, Lemont 2: Grant Bartell went five innings for the win, allowing six hits and striking out four. Rick Amaya was 3-for-3 with a run for the Knights (7-1).

Marian Catholic 2-5, St. Rita 1-4: The Spartans (5-2) swept the Mustangs behind a big day from John Hotchkiss, who was 2-for-3 with a run in the opener and 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI in Game 2. Josh Pieck (2-0) pitched four innings in the opener and Brad Bohlen was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base in the nightcap for Marian.
