CLASS 4A REGIONAL FINALS
GENEVA
St. Charles East 6, Geneva 0: Pitcher Wes Benjamin threw a complete game, allowing just two hits. Brian Sobieski hit a two-run homer for the Saints.
HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR
Lincoln-Way North 3, Brother Rice 2: Dominic Hartman drove in the game-winning run. Jack Irace and Alex Eaton each had a RBI. Pitcher Jake Harper (7-1) earned the win and struck out eight for Lincoln-Way North (30-3).
OAK PARK-RIVER FOREST
Oak Park-River Forest 7, De La Salle 1: TJ Brennan struck out seven on the way to a complete-game win for Oak Park-River Forest (28-9). Jack Picchiotti hit a three-run homer and teammate Tim Sutton hit a homer.
ST. IGNATIUS
Mount Carmel 3, St. Ignatius 1: John Kravetz (10-3) tossed a no-hitter in which he struck out eight for Mount Carmel (29-7). Jeff Boehm was 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and Tyler Laurisch was 2-for-3 with a double.
ST. RITA
St. Rita 1, Fenwick 0: Pitcher Eddie De La Riva (12-1) went the distance, allowing two hits while fanning seven. St. Rita (30-6) was led by Stefano Belmonte (2-for-2, run scored) and Jake Thome (RBI) at the plate.
SHEPARD
Lincoln-Way East 12, Reavis 2: Mark Chemello (8-1) pitched the win for Lincoln-Way East (23-11). Joe Piersanti was 2-for-3 with three RBI and Jake Hickey was 3-for-4 with a RBI.
SEMIFINALS
EVANSTON
Maine South 8, Evanston 2: John Forsythe (6-0) went five innings, scattered three hits, fanned four and walked three in the Maine South (21-9) win. AJ Sus was 2-for-2 with a run scored, Mick Calabrese was 2-for-4 with a RBI and John Fabiano hit a home run.
FREMD
Fremd 6, Rolling Meadows 4: Fremd (20-14) was fueled by Connor McWard (two-run home run) and Kurt Kaufman (home run).
HIGHLAND PARK
St. Viator 7, Highland Park 6: Cosimo Cannella knocked in the game-winning RBI. Kole Luthringshausen was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, four RBI and four runs scored for St. Viator (21-13).
NILES NORTH
Niles North 8, Von Steuben 5: Niles North (15-21) was powered by Gabe Dwyer (2-for-4, double, two RBI) and Clark Fox (two RBI).
SCHAUMBURG
Schaumburg 6, Elk Grove 4: Pitcher Ryan Hayes went 2 1/3 and gave up one hit to get the win for Schaumburg (16-12). Offensively, Tom Byrne was 4-for-4, hitting a home run and two runs while teammate Roger Lane was 1-for-3 with three RBI.
WILLOWBROOK
Glenbard West 8, St. Charles North 5: Ryan Kavanaugh earned the win.
CLASS 3A REGIONAL FINALS
BREMEN
Oak Forest 2, Morris 1: Kyle Funkhouser fanned 14 and walked none en route to a complete-game win. Brian Richard was 2-for-2 and drove in a run.
GUERIN
Ridgewood 5, Elmwood Park 1: Pete Mroz blasted a two-run homer and teammate Anthony Mroz pitched a complete-game as well as hitting a homer at the plate.
HARLAN
Harlan 8, Calumet-Perspectives 0: Winning pitcher Brandon White (10-3) threw a one-hit gem and fanned six for Public League champion Harlan. Darvon Sylvin had a triple, two RBI and run scored.
NAZARETH
Nazareth 6, Little Village 0: Dominic Purpura (9-1) pitched a perfect game with 9 K’s for Nazareth (31-5). AJ Ryan was 1-for-2 with a homer and Rob Petrak was 1-for-2 with a RBI.
PAYTON
Payton 8, Lake View 1: Winning pitcher Matt Murphy (2-6) threw a complete game, allowing an earned run and five hits while stricking out eight.
ST. JOSEPH
St. Joseph 11, Senn 0: Trayvon Johnson (5-2) worked four innings and fanned 11 to get the win for St. Joseph (20-17).
SYCAMORE
Kaneland 2, Sycamore 1: Bobby Thorson was the winning pitcher.
SEMIFINALS
KENWOOD
Corliss 24, Fenger 14: Winning pitcher Dantrell Meekins worked 4 2/3 innings and struck out nine. Cyntrell Dyson led Corliss at the plate with two doubles and a triple.
Kenwood 17, Bowen 0: Joba Ferrell powered Kenwood with a pair of home runs and six RBI. Arefes Everette and Alonzo Ontiveros also homered and drove in two runs each. Zachariah Givens struck out three in a complete-game win.
WASHINGTON
U-High 10, Lindblom 0: Mike Sullivan and Joel Sachnoff paced U-High with two hits and three RBI apiece. Steve Glick earned the win on the mound.
CLASS 2A SECTIONAL
REED-CUSTER
Reed-Custer 7, Lincoln-Way West 5: Tyler House (5-2) tossed a complete game that featured 10 strikeouts. At the plate, House cranked a two-run home run. Nick Collins hit a double and drove in two runs.
