CLASS 4A

Mount Carmel 16, Curie 0: Jeremy Kravetz struck out four and gave up two hits in four innings of work, and Jeff Boehm (3 RBI) and Sam Kint (4 RBI) each went 3-for-4 as the Caravan routed the Condors in a St. Ignatius Regional semifinal. Ryan Fitzpatrick (1-for-1) added an RBI for Mount Carmel (28-7).

Mundelein 9, Lake Zurich 1: Ben Mahar allowed one run on six hits for the Mustangs in a complete-game regional semifinal victory at Barrington.

Plainfield North 9, Naperville North 2: Patrick Cashman (6-0) allowed eight hits, struck out 10 and walked none over seven innings to lead the Tigers (30-2) to a victory in a Plainfield South Regional semifinal. At the plate, Sean Renzi (three RBI) and Kurt Palandech each went 3-for-4, and Caleb Kissel went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

St. Charles East 10, Glenbard East 2: Brian Sobieski hit a home run, and Wes Benjamin picked up the win for the Saints in a Geneva Regional semifinal.

St. Rita 3, Brooks 1: Zack Soria (1-for-2) drove in two runs, and Scott Thomas (10-2) tossed a complete game, allowing four hits, while striking out 11 without a walk in the host Mustangs’ regional semifinal win. Stefano Belmonte added an RBI for St. Rita (29-6).

CLASS 3A

Marmion 1, Crystal Lake Central 0: Travis Siwiec drove in the game-winning run in the eighth inning as the Cadets anvanced to the Hampshire Regional final.

Montini 5, Wheaton Academy 1: Mike Davis went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and 3 RBI in the Broncos’ regional semifinal win at Glenbard South. Ben Dobosenski allowed seven hits and struck out 10 in the complete-game win for Montini (18-13).

Nazareth 11, Noble Street 0: Brian Orrick hurled a five-inning no-hitter for the host Roadrunners in a regional semifinal.

Sycamore 11, Aurora Central 0: Adam Dobson hit a double in all three of his at-bats, and Matt Godinsky picked up the win in a regional semifinal for the host Spartans.
