Andrew 18, Thornwood 3: Mark Kane had a three-run homer and six RBI to lead Andrew (23-9, 11-3).

Argo 14, Hillcrest 2: Sam Almendarez (2-1) allowed four hits and struck out 11 for Argo (15-14, 7-12 South Suburban Red). Cohen Piechonsklki went 2-for-4 with a triple, double and four RBI while Jeremy Vandergriff finished 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Cary-Grove 13, Woodstock North 0: Matt Panek (7-0) led Cary-Grove (23-8, 19-5 Fox Valley) giving up one hit in five innings while striking out five. He was also 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Michael Valardo was 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Corliss 8, Perspectives-Calumet 7: Erick Hawkins (6-3) had nine strikeouts and was 2-for-3 with two RBI for Corliss (19-10).

Evergreen Park 4, Tinley Park 3: Jesse McLain threw a complete game, giving up seven hits and two earned runs for Evergreen Park (12-14, 10-9 South Suburban Red). Bobby McAvoy was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and one run.

Glenbard West 3, Hinsdale South 2: Mike Lanning finished 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Hilltoppers (13-18). Ryan Kavanaugh picked up the win.

Huntley 10, Woodstock 0: Brady Burkart went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBI and a run scored for the Red Raiders (21-8).

Lemont 6, Oak Lawn 2: Josh Ferry (8-2) gave up six hits and fanned seven for Lemont (21-7). Dam Lombardo had a double and drove in two runs for the Indians.

Lincoln-Way Central 2, Homewood-Flossmoor 0: Grant Bartell had three strikeouts and surrendered three hits in a complete game for Lincoln-Way Central (14-15-1, 5-9 SouthWest Suburban Blue). Kevin Dematteo was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Lincoln-Way West 7, Thornridge 0: Dan Fifer struck out seven in a complete game shut-out.

Maine South 9, Highland Park 1: Steve San Hamel (2-0) gave up a walk, four hits and one earned run in five innings for Maine South. Jimmy Francos was 3-for-4 with three RBI, and Patrick Aloisio was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Mount Carmel 6, Clark (Ind.) 2: Jeremy Kravetz (1-0) threw six innings of four-hit ball for No. 5 Mount Carmel (26-6). Sam Kint (2-for-3, 2-R HR), Chris Sujka (2-for-3, two runs) and Jerry Houston (2-for-3, two RBI) paced the Caravan offense.

Nazareth 4, Fenwick 2: Ryan Marske (8-0) remained unbeaten scattering six hits and striking out five for No. 8 Nazareth (27-5). Kane Lombardo had a hit, walked three times and scored twice for the Roadrunners.

Oak Park-River Forest 4, Downers South 3: Zack Weigel knocked in the game-winning run for the Huskies (25-9). PJ Brennan nothced the victory on the mound.

Plainfield Central 5, Minooka 4: Mark DeYoung earned a complete-game win giving up six hits and striking out seven and also went 2-for-3 at the plate for Plainfield Central (9-20).

Plainfield North 8, Romeoville 7, 8 inn.: Kyle Bledsoe picked up the win for No. 3 Plainfield North (29-1, 21-0 Southwest Prairie). Matt Fenza was 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Sean Renzi was 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Proviso East 8, Hinsdale Central 5, 8 inn.: Nate Reese had two strikeouts and gave up a run in three innings for Proviso East (3-28). They also got helpd from Matt Williams (3-for-5, two doubles,three RBI), Reuben Esquivel (2-for-4, one RBI). Keith Carter (two RBI) and Michael Phipps (game-winning RBI).

Rich Central 6, Rich East 3: Garrett Spivey went the distance with nine strikeouts to pick up the victory for Rich Central (20-5, 13-2 Southland).

Ridgewood 3, Riverside-Brookfield 2: Billy Balastos threw a complete game for Ridgewood (14-14, 11-7 Metro Suburban). Anthony Mroz supplied the game-winning RBI.

St. Laurence 9, Richards 3: Mike Chimera was 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead No. 4 St. Laurence (25-6).

St. Rita 7, Benet 3: Eddie De La Riva (11-1) allowed two earned runs and struck out three in six innings for No. 6 St. Rita (26-6). Rick Faron went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI and Connor McLain had two doubles and scored twice. Joe Filomeno added a home run and drove in three runs.

South Elgin 17, Bartlett 9: Marty Knuth (5-2) picked up the win for South Elgin (22-8, 16-8).

Waubonsie Valley 10, Lake Park 0: Kyle Limanowski went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBI and Mike Murphy added three hits and an RBI for Waubonsie Valley (18-12). Harry Vickers contributed a homer while Joey Cuzzone (3-2) worked six innings for the win.

CENTRAL SUBURBAN

Glenbrrok North 4, Glenbrook S. 3, title: Peter Resnick was the winning pitcher for No. 7 Glenbrook North (27-3). Jack Bay was 1-for-2 with a double while Chad Bruce was 1-for-4 with the game-winning RBI.

PUBLIC LEAGUE PLAYOFFS

Quarterfinals

Clemente 10, Lane 2: Jeremiah Figueroa was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Marcelino Rodriguez was 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI to lead Clemente (21-5).

Harlan 11, Kenwood 5: Jabari Roberts (9-2) picked up the win for Harlan (23-7), giving up six hits, striking out seven, and walking four.

Simeon 10, Lake View 3: Darius Day (6-0) scattered four hits and recorded 12 strikeouts as the Wolverines (24-3) rolled to victory. Blake Hickman belted a grand slam and Robert Fletcher finished 3-for-3 on the afternoon. Quintin Richardson and Corey Ray knocked in two runs apiece.

Von Steuben 7, Young 6: Jacob Pagan had two hits and three RBI for Von Steuben (22-8). Johnny Negron gave up four runs over 5 1/3 innings to claim the win.

CLASS 2A REGIONALS

Lisle 15, Leo 4: Nick Olson led the way with three strikeouts, no hits and no earned runs in three innings. He was also 1-for-1 with a double, two RBI an two runs, and Ryan Van Volkenburg was 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Wilmington 9, Reed-Custer 3: Sean Liaromatis was the winning pitcher.

St. Benedict 2, Hope Academy 0: Alex Alvarez pitched a complete game no-hitter.
