Providence 5, Loyola 0: The top-ranked Celtics cruised behind Brandon Maggallones’ no-hitter. Dan Potempa hit a two-run homer and Sam Travis knocked in a pair of runs for Providence.
Mount Carmel 12, St. Rita 1: John Kravitz threw a complete game for the fourth-ranked Caravan (24-5). Chris Sujka helped supply the offense with a pair of home runs and four RBI, while Jerry Houston added three hits and two RBI.
Glenbrook North 9, Waukegan 1: The No. 9 Spartans (24-2) got a complete-game, one-hitter from Alex Hermeling, who struck out 10. Brett Synek and Chad Bruce each had two hits and three RBI, while Jason Scholl smacked a two-run homer.
Argo 1-2, Riverside-Brookfield 0-6: Dustin Krob drove in the game-winning run for Argo (14-12) in Game 1 and winning pitcher Sam Almendarez was the winning pitcher.
Coal City 9. Herscher 2: Brandon Willis tossed a complete game for the Coalers (20-10).
Cristo Rey 18, Christ the King 0: Eric Leon tossed a no-hitter for Cristo Rey (5-7) and struck out 10. Otto Ortega went 3-for-3 with a grand slam.
Fenwick 1, St. Ignatius 0, 9 inn.: Brendan Fitzgerald went 1-for-3, driving in the game-winning run for Fenwick (16-12, 12-8 Catholic White). Winning pitcher Tyler Sewall fanned seven and scored the game-winning run.
Glenbard South 12, Romeoville 9: Zack Bava went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI to help the Raiders (17-9) to the win.
Grant 9, Wilmot (Wisc.) 5: Tyler Gorski went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI. Jake Ring went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases. Winning pitcher Zach Niedrich (2-4) allowed just one hit.
Lakes 3, Marengo 0: Winning pitcher Bill Fell fanned nine in the complete-game win for Lakes (15-12, 7-3 North Suburban Prairie). A.J. Metzger went 2-for-3 with one run.
Lane 8, Taft 7: Rey Gonzalez’s big day (3-for-4, two triples, four runs) helped the Indians get the win. Spencer Barclay added a two-run double for Lane (12-11).
Leo 15, Lindblom 3: Arramis Johnson fanned 12 in the win for Leo (15-13) and went 3-for-4 from the plate with a triple, double, two RBI and two runs.
Lincoln-Way North 10, Bloom 0: Winning pitcher Kevin Wilson (1-0) allowed just two hits and struck out five in the win for Lincoln-Way North (22-3). Luke Waldier went 1-for-1 and scored two runs.
Maine South 12, Highland Park 2: Maine South (15-8, 10-4 Central Suburban South) was led by Kyle Richardson (3-for-4, triple, double, walk, three RBI, run) and Nick Calabrese (3-for-4, double, two RBI, two runs). Winning pitcher John Forsythe (3-0) struck out five.
Marmion 2, Marian Central 0: Winning pitcher Tim Tarter fanned six in the win for Marmion (17-3, 13-3 Suburban Christian Blue).
Nazareth 17-4, St. Viator 15-2: In Game 1, Nazareth (25-4, 11-3 East Suburban Catholic) was powered by Mike Barajas (5-for-5, cycle, seven RBI) and Justin Gonzalez (2-for-5, two homer, four RBI). Ryan Powers (5-1) was the winning pitcher. In Game 2, winning pitcher Ryan Marske fanned 11 and allowed just three hits. Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Oak Park 13, Hinsdale Central 3: Alec Jeffries’ three-run homer and Matt McCormack’s two-run blast carried Oak Park (23-8).
Plainfield North 10, Lemont 0: Joe Pendolino went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI. Sean Renzi went 1-for-3 with three RBI. Joe Crest was the winning pitcher.
Shepard 10, Rich Central 4: Matt Hoge went 3-for-5 with two RBI and Devin Bishop went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
Stagg 10, Thornwood 2: Joe Wabick went 2-for-4 with three RBI and winning pitcher Jeff Trybula struck out seven.
Stagg 5, Oak Lawn 4: Kyle Belluomini (2-4) was the winning pitcher and drove in one run.
Streamwood 10, Young 2: Nate Pearson went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI and one run for Streamwood (24-4). Dom Tatone (2-0) struck out seven to notch the win.
St. Francis 2, Montini 1: Eric Stout did it all for the Spartans (19-8), throwing a complete game with 11 strikeouts and blasting a two-run homer.
Walther Lutheran 12, Immaculate Cnception 11: Chris Stevens hit three home runs for the Broncos in the slugfest. Dan Lodolce added a late three-run homer for Walter Lutheran (12-14).
Waubonsie Valley 3-5, Neuqua Valley 2-3: In the first game, Joey Puzzone threw six solid innings and Kyle Limanowski had two RBI for the Warriors (16-11).
Westinghouse 5, Senn 4: Greg Cisneros pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and Bryant Martinez had a walkoff single as Westinghouse (6-8, 5-8 Double Duty) edged Senn.
York 10-8, Proviso West 0-5: Joe Boozell went 1-for-3 with two RBI and Joey Grollo went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs in the Game 1 win for York.
