Providence 3, Mount Carmel 2: Matt Trowbridge (two earned runs, five hits, nine strikeouts, two walks) threw a complete game for No. 1 Providence (22-3). Sam Travis and Kevin DeFilippis each had a RBI.
St. Rita 8, Brother Rice 6: No.5 St.Rita (23-4, 10-3 Catholic Blue) was led by Connor McLain (3-for-3, two RBI), Zack Soria (2-for-4, double, two RBI) and winning pitcher Joe Filomeno.
Bowen 18, Bronzeville 8: Justin Lee hit a two-run homer and a triple. Winning pitcher Macario Ortiz went 3-for-5 with three runs at the plate for Bowen (6-8-1, 6-4 Carlton Fisk).
Clemente 4, Lake View 3: Jonathan Figueroa (4-1) struck out eight in a complete-game win for Clemente (14-5, 10-0 Jackie Robinson North). Chris Simon was 2-for-3 with a RBI.
Corliss 13, Hyde Park 3: Shaquan Wells got the win for Corliss (16-9, 9-3 Minnie Minoso), striking out nine in the process. Deonte Branch was 3-for-4 with a RBI.
Crete-Monee 14, Rich Central 7: Crete-Monee (10-10, 6-5 Southland) was powered by Mike Wojtanowski (2-for-4, three-run home run, five RBI), John McLaughlin, Tirone Rogers and Jake Kadich (three RBI each).
Fenwick 6, De La Salle 3: Quinn Collins was 3-for-3 with two RBI in the Fenwick (15-10, 11-6 Catholic White) win.
Harlan 12, Brooks 0: Winning pitcher Brandon White (3-2) scattered four hits and fanned ten for Harlan (17-7, 8-3 Jackie Robinson South).
Herscher 12, Manteno 2: Justin Ruckman went 3-for-4, cranked two homers and drove in six runs,
Jones 12, Curie 2: Floyd Dumrall was 2-for-3 with a triple, double and 5 RBI in theJones (13-10, 7-6 Jackie Robinson South) win.
Lane 7, Payton 1: Jack McLaughlin gave up three hits in six innings to earn the win, Jackson Perry went 3-for-3, including a three-run home run.
Lemont 8, Tinley Park 2: Lane (11-10) Lemont (16-6, 11-3 South Suburban Red) was led by Mike Papierski (2-for-3, home run, five RBI), Tyler Jay (2-for-3, RBI) and Dan Lombardo (2-for-3, RBI).
Lincoln-Way West 11, Thornton 0: Winning pitcher Matt Sutor went five innings, giving up just one hit and fanning seven in the Lincoln-Way West (15-7) victory. Tyler Kopp (2-for-2, home run, three RBI) and Mike Lagger (2-for-3, two RBI) provided offensively.
Nazareth 6, Marian Catholic 2: Ryan Marske (6-0) earned the win for Nazareth (22-4). Mike Barakas was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer.
Notre Dame 3, Carmel 2: Winning pitcher Andrew Gustafson allowed two hits in six innings. Nick Pieruccini drove in the game-winning run to give Notre Dame (14-11, 7-4 East Suburban Catholic) the win.
Oak Lawn 7, Eisenhower 3: Nick Mozwecz was the winning pitcher for Oak Lawn (14-10, 9-5 South Suburban Red). Bob Kametas was 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Palatine 14, Barrington 12: Vince Portera (grand slam), Kurt Becker (2-for-4, two home runs, three RBI) and Dan Haze (3-for-5, home run, three RBI) showed up big at the plate for Palatine (17-10).
Peotone 3, Wilmington 0: John Swisher (4-4) allowed only two hits while pitching a complete game for Peotone (11-13, 4-9 Interstate Eight Sout). Matt Borens was 2-for-3 at the plate.
Plano 6, Westmont 1: Alex Ramirez tossed a complete game that featured 13 K’s in the Plano (17-12-1, 7-5-1 I-8 North) win.
Rich East 11, Kankakee 1: Jason Douglas allowed three hits and struck out nine in a complete-game effort for Rich East (8-8). Darrius Gilbert went 2-for-2 with 3RBI and two runs. Jacob Wilson was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs.
Richards 7, Shepard 1: Jon Danielson (4-1) logged the win for Richards (17-8, 11-4 South Suburban Red).
St. Francis 6, Aurora Central 3: KC Zimmerman was 2-for-4 with a double and a run for St. Francis (17-8, 8-5 Suburban Christian Blue).
St. Ignatius 8, Bishop McNamara 3: Conor Knapp was 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and Bill Boyle was 2-for-3 with two RBI in the St. Ignatius (17-12, 9-7 Catholic White) win.
St. Joseph 9, Gordon 2: Tyler Polich earned the win for St. Joseph (14-13). Stephen Scatassa was 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI.
St. Laurence 12, Loyola 2: Winning pit St. Ignatius (17-12, 9-7 Catholic White) cher Mike Chimera went five innings, gave up two runs, allowed four hits and struck out six. Kyle Wood was 2-for-3 with a grand slam and six RBI. Steve Fiorella was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI for St. Laurence (21-6, 11-3 Catholic Blue).
Schaumburg 9, Hoffman Estates 2: Matt Brancato (4-2) fanned six for Schaumburg (12-6, 4-5 Mid-Suburban West). Roger Lane was 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI and two runs.
Simeon 9, Morgan Park 0: Darius Day (5-0) fanned 15 in a complete-game win for Simeon (20-2, 11-1 Jackie Robinson South). Corey Ray was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs. Shane Brown was 2-for-2 with a RBI and Marshawn Taylor was 2-for-3 with two runs.
Walther Lutheran 14, Guerin 2: Winning pitcher Sam Cattau (3-2) went the distance on the mound for Walther Lutheran (10-11). At the plate Chris Stevens was 4-for-4 with five RBI and Shaq Cockrell was 2-for-2, with a homer and four RBI.
