Plainfield North 14, Oswego East 0: Sean Renzi drove in three runs as the No. 3 Tigers (12-0, 6-0 Southwest Prairie) won in five innings. Kyle Palendech (2-for-2, 2 RBI) and Kurt Palendech (1-for-2, 2 RBI) also contributed for Plainfield North, while Peter Cashman (2-0) pitched a one-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk.
Mount Carmel 12, Gordon Tech 2: Jeff Boehm (3-for-4, double) and Tom Hayes (2-for-3, 2 doubles) drove in two runs each as the No. 5 Caravan (13-1, 3-0 Catholic League) won in five innings. Beau Filkins pitched a four-hitter for the win.
St. Rita 11, Bishop McNamara 1: Nico Zych was 3-for-3 with a homer, a double and four RBI for No. 6 St. Rita (13-1, 2-0 Catholic Blue). Eddie DeLaRiva (6-0) was given the decision and Evan Bloomfield hit a homer in his only registered at bat.
Argo 17, T.F. North 5: Ryan Krob was 4-for-4 with two homers and seven RBI as the Argonauts (7-2, 3-2 South Suburban Red) rolled to the home win. Jeremy Vandergriff (2-1) picked up the victory.
Clemente 18, Payton 0: Yervis Arias (1-0) allowed two hits and struck out seven for Clemente (7-4, 4-0 Jackie Robinson North). Jeremiah Figueroa had a pair of hits including a grand slam and five RBI while Felix DeJesus(3-for-5, HR, 4 RBI), Juan Figueroa (2-for-3, RBI) and Robert Berdecia (3-for-5, 2B, 3 RBI) all contributed in the win.
Deerfield 2, New Trier 1: Andrew Goldstick hit a double and scored the game-winning run in the ninth to lift Deerfield (5-6, 2-0 Central Suburban North). Jon Smirles drove in the game-winning run while Mark Blakey (2-1) tossed a complete game, striking out four.
Glenbrook South 6, Maine West 5: Glenbrook South (10-3, 2-0 Central Suburban South) earned the win behind Sully Stadler (2-1), who struck out 10 in 6 1/3 innings.
Homewood-Flossmoor 12, Joliet Central 4: David Satoki (2-0) allowed no earned runs in five innings to Homewood-Floosmoor (11-1).
Huntley 11, Jacobs 6: Huntley (10-1, 6-0 Fox Valley Valley) got a solid outing from winning pitcher Justin Gundlack, who struck out four and drove in two runs. Nick Corpolongo added three hits and drove in a RBI while Jake Perkins drove in a run and scored twice.
Jones 8, Young 4: Max Puidak had three hits and drove in two for Jones (9-4, 3-2 Jackie Robinson South). Joe Casa had a pair of RBI while Matt Sax had a three-run triple.
King 11, Lindblom 4: King (5-2, 3-1 Ernie Banks) captured a win behind Stacy Embry, who tossed 10 strikeouts in five innings.
Lake Park 8, Elgin 0: Jack Pygman had a home run and four RBI for Lake Park (7-6) while winning pitcher Eric Batch struck out four.
Lake View 22, Schurz 4: Lake View (5-7, 3-0 Jackie Robinson North) winning pitcher Justin Montalvo (3-0) also had three hits including a grand slam. Marino Cantu (4-for-4, cycle, 4 RBI), Josh Henry (3-for-4, 3B, 2B) and Roberto Pagan (4-for-4, 5 RBI) also contributed.
Leo 16, Vocational 6: James Fagan fanned five while Tyrone Lee was 2-for-3 with a triple, a RBI and two runs scored for Leo (7-3-2). Phillip Byrd also went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Lisle 16, Peotone 6: Ryan Burlison struck out 11 and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored for Lisle (11-4). Nick Olson was 4-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored. Ryan Van Volkenburg finished 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored.
Maine South 9, Maine East 2: Maine South (5-5, 1-1 Central Suburban South) was led by winning pitcher Patrick Aloisio (2-0), who struck out eight in a complete-game effort . Nick Mitrovic was 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored.
Marian Central 14, Aurora Central 4: Steve Zubrzycki was 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored in the win for Marian Central (6-3, 3-2 Suburban Christian Blue). Riley Balduf added two hits, three RBI and a run scored.
Marist 12, Illiana Christian 5: Zach Lewis (1-3) fanned seven for Marist (5-9). Jayson Gorski went 3-for-4 with five RBI and John McKevitt added three RBI on two hits.
Montini 12, Guerin 2: Dan Smego (2-0) earned the win for Montini (11-4, 3-3 Suburban Christian Blue) while Tom Ruopp netted three RBI on a pair of hits and Ben Dobosenski was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
Oak Lawn 7, Bremen 6: Alex Krupa was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI for Oak Lawn (8-5, 4-2 South Suburban Red). Cody Quillin finished 3-for-4 with a triple.
Perspectives-Calumet 18, Bronzeville 3: Perspectives-Calumet (5-4, 4-0 Carlton Fisk) was led by Michael Colyer, who was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a RBI. Steven Robinson fanned three in the win.
Plainfield East 4, Plainfield Central 2: Nick Sharrow had a triple, two doubles and two RBI for Plainfield East (6-7, 3-3 Southwest Prairie). Bobby Tenczar earned the win in a complete-game effort.
Proviso East 10, Downers North 7: Brandon Buchanan had a double and four RBI while Keith Carter added a 3-for-4 game with a RBI for Proviso East.
Reavis 7, Tinley Park 1: Josh Arnold (2-0) had five strikeouts for Reavis (7-6, 4-1 South Suburban Red) and Bob Rabakozi added a two-run double.
Rich Central 13, Rich South 3: Garrett Spivey (2-0) allowed no hits in six innings for Rich Central (10-1-1). He also was 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBI while Matt Cole added two hits and two RBI.
Ridgewood 7, Glenbard South 5: Pete Mroz finished 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI for Ridgewood (3-8).
St. Francis 3, Aurora Christian 1: Eric Stout allowed one hit in three innings and struck out four in the 10-inning game victory for St. Francis.
St. Francis de Sale 8, Holy Trinity 7: Ruben Cruz threw a complete game, striking out 17 for St. Francis de Sales (3-6). Zach McIntyre was 3-for-3 with three triples and a RBI and four runs scored.
T.F. South 7, Shepard 3: Kevin Hallberg struck out six to give T.F. South (7-5, 5-0 South Suburban Blue) the win.
Washington 6, Ag. Science 4: David Swiatek (3-1) threw a complete game, striking out 10 for Washington (11-4, 5-0 Minnie Minoso). Robert Garcia was 3-for-3 with two runs scored while Jorge Castenada also went 3 of 3 with three RBI.
