Evanston wrapped up its trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., with a 13-3 win

over Fleming County (Ky.) on Thursday.

Justin Kleschen struck out six in four innings for the win on his 18th birthday to improve to 3-1 on the season as the Wildkits moved to 6-3.

Mark Johnson, Matt Carmichael and Jeremias Delgado each had two hits to help Evanston finish up 2-2 on the East Coast. The Wildkits started the trip with an 11-1 win over DeSales before losing to Ballard 12-10 and Butler 3-2. All the teams Evanston played were from Kentucky.

Kenny Horwat had a big game against Ballard, going 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBI. His effort was wasted when the Wildkits couldn't hold an 8-3 lead late in the game.

Plainfield North 6, Oswego 0: Sam Cashman pitched a four-hitter and fanned nine for No. 4 Plainfield North (8-0) in the Southwest Prairie.

St. Rita 12, Brooks 0: Stefano Belmonte slugged a two-run homer and Scott Thomas (3-0) got the win for the No. 6 Mustangs (9-1). Mike Zunica (2-for-3, double, 2 RBI) and Rick Faron (2-for-2, double, RBI) also contributed offensively.

Stevenson 10, Fremd 0: Michael Martin doubled three times and drove in two runs for the No. 12 Patriots.

York 14, Proviso East 4: Joe Boozell (2-for-4, 2 RBI) and Joe Grollo (2-for-4, 2 RBI, 3 runs) led the No. 18 Dukes (8-0). Mitch Baker (1-0) picked up the win.

Addison Trail 7, Downers Grove North 1: Scott Babica was 2-for-3 with two steals and two RBI as the Blazers evened their record at 3-3.

Aurora Christian 10, Walther Lutheran 7: Kenny McCracken went 3-for-3 with a home, two runs and three RBI as Aurora Christian (8-2, 3-1) won in the Suburban Christian Blue.

Cary-Grove 14, Johnsburg 1: Matt Panek (2-0) fanned five in three innings and drove in three runs to power Cary-Grove (5-3).

Glenbrook North 13, Buffalo Grove 1: Charlie Apfelbach was 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI to lead the Spartans (8-1) to an easy win. Ryan Slawin homered, walked twice and scored three runs for Glenbrook North, while Alex Hermeling (1-1) pitched five shutout innings and fanned seven.

Gordon Tech 2, St. Francis de Sales 0: Dakota Pisarek (2-0) fanned 11 in going the distance for the win in the six-inning game for the Rams (5-2).

Highland Park 11, Clemente 2: Jake Rubin went six innings for the win, allowing one earned run and fanning 10. Jason Goldstein was 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI for the Giants (5-4).

Homewood-Flossmoor 5, Bradley-Bourbonnais 1: Winning pitcher Dave Fatoki pitched four-hit ball over five innings and Nico Kelly was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs for the Vikings (8-1).

Huntley 12, Woodstock North 0: Nick Corpolongo was 3-for-4 with a run, Kameron Sallee drove in two runs and scored another, and Josh Prokuski had an RBI and two runs for the Red Raiders (6-1). Winning pitcher Justin Gundlach (2-0) gave up one hit and fanned four in five innings.

Illinois Lutheran 9, Beecher 5: Sam Geraci got the save and was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI for Illinois Lutheran (2-4) in the River Valley win. Teammate JT Barthel was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

IMSA 6, Rockford Christian Life 5: Matt Tennhouse was 2-for-4 with the game-winning RBI for IMSA (3-3, 2-0 Northeastern Athletic). John Hendrix earned the win.

Jacobs 7-4, Crystal Lake South 6-5: Brett Kale doubled three times and drove in three runs as Jacobs won the opener. Teammate Nate Anderson was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI in Game 1.

Leyden 7, Glenbard West 3: Justin Stawychny hit a grand slam to help Leyden (6-0) stay unbeaten. Dan Schoedel (1-0) got the win.

Maine South 3, Fenwick 2: Will Krug (2-for-4, run) and Jimmy Frankos (2-for-4, run, RBI) led the Hawks (3-3) past the Friars. AJ Sus (2-1) struck out five and gave up three hits in six innings for the win.

Marmion 2, Wheaton Academy 0: Chris Simon (1-1) pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts as the Cadets prevailed. Mitch Sterne had a double and an RBI.

Montini 9, Immaculate Conception 0: Ben Dobosenski slugged a two-run homer and was 2-for-3 as the Broncos (6-3, 1-2) won in the Suburban Christian Blue. Curtis Ligocki (1-1) struck out six in six innings for the win.

Orr 16, Manley 5: Winning pitcher Kareem Robinson was a single shy of the cycle and drove in five runs as Orr (2-2, 2-0 Ozzie Guillen) rolled.

Peotone 13, Seneca 4: Winning picher Kyle Bataoel (2-1) was 3-for-3 with two homers and six RBI to power the Blue Devils (6-3). Teammate Matt Harper went 3-for-4 with a homer and double.

Perspectives-Calumet 5, Gage Park 1: Steven Colyer pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts to pace Perspectives (3-3, 2-0 Carlton Fisk). Steven Robinson singled, doubled and drove in two runs.

Rich Central 11, Crete-Monee 1: Matt Cole was 3-for-4 with four RBI and Brandon Fowler (2-0) fanned four in five innings to pace the Olympians (8-1, 2-0 Southland).

Rich East 5, Kankakee 4: Jason Douglass (1-1) struck out six in six innings to help the Rockets (2-3, 1-1 Southland) edge the Kays.

Rich South 12, Bloom 6: Brandon Hrobowski was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI as the Stars (1-5, 1-1 Southland) earned their first win of the season. Terrance Hunt got the win, working six innings.

Richards 9, T.F. North 0: Tyler Mastalerez pitched a two-hitter and struck out eight as the Bulldogs improved to 5-3. Dan Kenealy had two hits, two runs and two RBI for Richards.

Riverside-Brookfield 6, Glenbard South 0: David Tortorici (1-1) threw a four-hitter and struck out eight as the Bulldogs (4-5-1, 1-2) won in the Metro Suburban. Jason Biegel was 2-for-2 with a homer for R-B.

Shepard 20, Hillcrest 0: Trenton Hettlinger (1-1) struck out eight and allowed one hit in four innings, Zach Smith hit a three-run homer and Ramsay Hamdan was 2-for-3 with three RBI for the Astros (3-6, 2-1 South Suburban Red).

T.F. South 2, Reavis 0: Kevin Hallberg went the distance and struck out five as the Rebels (4-4, 2-0 SSC Blue) blanked the Rams. Bobby Colantuono was 2-for-3 with a run and two steals.
