Mount Carmel 28, Young 0: Tom Hayes hit for the cycle and drove in three runs for the No. 2 Caravan (8-1). Winning pitcher Frank Kelly allowed four hits and struck out four in four innings for Mount Carmel and Sam Kint went 4-for-5 with a homer, double and five RBI, while Jeff Boehm singled, doubled and homered.
Mundelein 9, Lake Zurich 1: Louis Carrasco doubled three times and drove in three runs for No. 5 Mundelein (9-0). Nick Gastfield and Chris Langlie each homered.
Marist 5, St. Laurence 3: Mike Hearne pitched a six-hitter with seven strikeouts as the RedHawks (2-7) upset the No. 7 Vikings. Ryan Meyer was 2-for-2 with a run for Marist.
York 9, Oak Park-River Forest 0: Joe Paparone (2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI) and Joe Bozell (2-for-4, RBI) powered the No. 18 Dukes (6-0, 2-0 West Suburban Silver) to their second straight win over No. 10 Oak Park. Winning pitcher Chris Jennings (2-0) gave up three hits over six innings, striking out seven.
Stevenson 4, Libertyville 1: Isaac Greenspon (2-0) no-hit Libertyville for 6 2/3 innings before settling for a one-hitter, 11 strikeouts and one walk for the No. 12 Patriots (4-0). Ricky Kern went 2-for-3 for Stevenson.
Aurora Central 9, St. Edward 7: Geno Cabral was 2-for-4 with six RBI and Ryan Herrald finished 2-for-3 with an RBI as Aurora Central (3-2, 3-0) won in the Suburban Christian Gold.
Aurora Christian 15, Guerin 2: Todd Clapp went 4-for-4 with an RBI and four runs as Aurora Christian improved to 7-2. Bobby Kuntzendorf (2-for-4, homer, 4 RBI) and Nick Chamberlain (2-for-3, 3 RBI, 2 runs) also contributed for the winners.
Bowen 8, Bronzeville 6: Winning pitcher Jauwon Jones struck out 11 and drove in four runs for the Boilermakers (1-4-1).
Bremen 13, Hillcrest 2: Winning pitcher Dan Stephens was 3-for-3
with three RBI as the Braves (10-2, 2-0 South Suburban Blue) rolled by
the Hawks. Keith Fus went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Eric West was 2-for-4
with three RBI for Bremen.
Clemente 6, St. Ignatius 4: Felix DeJesus earned the save and was 2-for-4 with a homer, triple and three RBI to pace Clemente (2-3).
Collins 15, Austin 1: Jameonne Morris (1-0) pitched one-hit ball over five innings, struck out nine and was 2-for-2 with an RBI to lead Collins (2-2, 1-0 Double Dity Radcliffe).
Eisenhower 8, Evergreen Park 7: Anthony Castro (1-0) fanned two in 2 2/3 innings to earn the win for the Cardinals (3-2, 2-0 South Suburban Red).
Elgin 7, Bartlett 2: Alex Doty (1-1) pitched a six-hitter with 14 strikeouts as the Maroons (1-3, 1-0) won in the Upstate Eight River.
Glenbard South 8, Riverside-Brookfield 5: Winning pitcher Brian Suffern fanned 10, allowed one earned run and went the distance for Glenbard South (4-3, 1-0 Metro Suburban).
Gordon Tech 14, Latin 4: Justin Garvy (1-1) was the winner for the Rams (3-2).
Grant 10, North Chicago 0: Tyler Gorski drove in three runs and Jake Ring (2-2) got the win as Grant rolled to a five-inning victory.
Herscher 7, Beecher 3: Justin Ruckman (2-0) fanned five in five innings as the Tigers moved to 10-1. Spike Engelman was 2-for-2 with two runs for Herscher.
Highland Park 7. St. Viator 5: Frank Maione slugged a three-run homer and winning pitcher Christian Biondi struck out three in two innings for the Giants (4-4).
Homewood-Flossmoor 18, Thornwood 1: Ben Kirchler (2-for-2, 3 runs, 4 RBI) and Michael Hurley (2-for-4, 3 runs, 4 RBI) powered the Vikings (6-1) to victory.
Illiana Christian 11, Ridgewood 1: Tyler Smit and Jordan Davis each had two hits and two RBI for the Vikings (3-3), while Jon Bertucci (1-0) fanned two in two no-hit innings.
IMSA 15, Christian Life 3: Logan Dodd was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Neel Patel (2-0) was the winner as IMSA (2-3 overall) rolled in its Northeastern Athletic Conference opener.
King 5, Bogan 3: Winning pitcher Stacy Embry homered and drove in two runs for King (3-1, 1-0 Ernie Banks).
Leyden 17, Morton 13: John Marino drove in seven runs with a double, triple and homer as Leyden (5-0, 3-0 West Suburban Gold) stayed unbeaten. Eric Palmer doubled twice and drove in two runs for the winners and Tyler Lennon was 2-for-4 with a homer.
Lindblom 6, Hubbard 3: Lorenzo Chavez went the distance, striking out 15 and walked two, as Lindblom (3-4-1, 1-0 Ernie Banks) topped Hubbard.
Marine 10, Sullivan 4: Joey Quiles pitched a complete game, striking out 10, and was 2-for-4 with two RBI for Marine (2-3, 1-1 Ryne Sandberg).
New Trier 9, Fremd 7: Eric West was 4-for-4 wth two RBI as the Trevians evened their record at 3-3. Nick Hedge (1-0) fanned five in four innings.
Niles West 9, Von Steuben 8: Max Markoff had the game-winning hit for Niles West (8-1), while Kenny Blanchard was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI.
North Lawndale 14, Farragut 0: Jalen Smith (homer) and Steven Calhoun (2 doubles) went 4-for-4 as the Phoenix improved to 5-0.
Notre Dame 6, Maine South 5: Andrew Gustafson (2-0) was the winner and Fred Dickson had a double and a run for the Dons (3-5).
Oswego East 14, Romeoville 2: Eric Egan (2-1) fanned four in 4 1/3 innings and was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer to pace Oswego East (3-4). Bobby Smith was 2-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBI, while Adam Kaczmarek went 3-for-4 with three runs.
Perspectives-Calumet 20, Hirsch 2: Junior Eujean Johnson pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeoutsm three walks and no earned runs for Perspectives-Calumet (2-3, 1-0 Carlton Fisk). Robert Robinson was 3-for-3 with three RBI and Julian Autry finished 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI.
Reavis 6, Argo 1: Jake Stano was 2-for-3 with a run to lead the Rams. Chester Davis slugged a solo homer for Argo (3-2, 0-2 SSC Red).
Reed-Custer 20, Momence 3: Alex Hagberg was 3-for-4 with a grand slam and six RBI to power the Comets (7-6).
Rich Central 14, Crete-Monee 4: Ryan Calvin was 4-for-5 with four RBI, Matt Cole homered and Tyler House (2-1) fanned nine in a complete-game effort in addition to going 2-for-3 with a two-run homer for the Olympians (7-1).
Sandburg 11, Thornton 1: Mike Malfeo was 2-for-3 with a homer, double and four RBI for the Eagles (4-2), while Nick Bates hit a two-run homer and scored twice. Ryan Donegan (1-0) fanned five in five innings.
Stagg 7, Joliet Central 0: Scott Fewkers (2-0) pitched a three-hitter with five strikeouts and Paul Gregory was 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs for the Chargers.
St. Joseph 5, St. Patrick 4: Eric LeCoure was 2-for-2 with a homer and three RBI to pace the Chargers (5-4).
T.F. South 12, Richards 11: Cody Krilich doubled twice and drove in three runs, while Ben Berridge doubled three times and Kyle Jankowski was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run for the Rebels (3-4, 1-0 South Suburban).
Tinley Park 10, T.F. North 0: Max Lapthurma doubled and drove in three runs for the Titans (9-2).
Vernon Hills 16, Antioch 2: Chris Marras was 4-for-5 with a double and five RBI to lead Vernon Hills to the North Suburban Prairie win. Eric Lang had three RBI for the Cougars and Tyler Feece (3-0) pitched three-hit ball over 5 2/3 innings.
Wheaton Academy 16, Immaculate Conception 7: Drew Sandberg, Trevor Swaney, Alec McNally and Matt Brandys all had three hits, while Tate Fritz contributed two hits and five RBI for the Warriors in the win.
Willowbrook 10, Proviso East 0: Tom Van Kooten (1-0) got the win for Willowbrook (6-1, 3-0) in the West Suburban Gold.
