De La Salle 6, Harlan 3: Pat Haynes went the distance for the win, striking out 10 and walking one, to lead the Meteors (2-0). He also was 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI.
Eisenhower 12, Kelly 2: Winning pitcher Sergio Diaz allowed one earned run and struck out four in four innings for the Cardinals (1-0).
Evanston 12, Lane 2: Justin Kleschen (2-0) was the winner for the Wildkits (3-0).
Glenbard West 9, Covington (Ind.) 8: Ben Krusen and Mike Laning each went 2-for-4 and Tyler Curtis added a double and two RBI for the Hilltoppers (1-3).
Glenbrook North 8, Rockwell Summit (Mo.) 4: Chad Bruce was 2-for-4 with a homer and two runs to lead the Spartans (2-0). Winning pitcher Peter Resnick (1-0) fanned four in two scoreless innings.
Hinsdale South 3, Lincoln-Way Central 2: Emmanuel Morris doubled twice and scored two runs as the Hornets won their opener. Eric Burger got the win.
Huntley 2, Barrington 1: Justin Gundlach fanned seven and allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings as the Red Raiders moved to 2-0.
Jones 10, Foreman 0: Adrian Brizuela pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts as Jones (5-0) won in five innings. Pablo padilla (3 RBI) and Sam Bieber each went 2-for-2 for the winners.
King 5, Orr 2: Stacy Embry was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Jordan Tate picked up the victory as King won its opener.
Leo 4, Bogan 2: Arramis Johnson (2-0) fanned nine in five innings to lead the Lions (4-0).
