Rockets' Erica Maisto (12-0) remains perfect on the season as Burlington Central (22-1, 7-0) topped Hampshire 11-0. Maisto struck out six and gave up two hits in five innings. She also went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run. Kaylin Pranger was 2-for-2 with three runs, three stolen bases and an RBI in the win.
Antioch 6, Lakes 4: Allie Antilla hit a game-winning two-run homer to give Antioch the edge over Lakes.
Barrington 10, Conant 1: Jessica McGurn (3-for-4, two RBI) and M.J. Maripis (2-for-4, two RBI) both helped in pushing No. 8 Barrington (22-6) by Conant.
Bishop McNamara 4, Wilmington 3: Sarah Memenga drove in the winning run in the seventh as the Irish (18-9) rallied to top Wilmington.
Bradley 4, Andrew 3: Julie Love had a hit and two RBI for host Andrew (15-9, 4-7) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.
Chicago Christian 12, Timothy Christian 1: Tiffany Steele struck out six and allowed one run in six innings as Chicago Christian (16-7) eased by Timothy Christian.
Glenbard South 8, Geneva 0: Raiders' Jill Trvaska improved to 12-1 on the season in the Western Sun win over Geneva. The Glenbard South (18-5) pitcher had 12 strikeouts and went 3-for-3 at the plate.
Guerin 4, St. Scholastica 2: Sarah Dec (12-4) threw a complete game two-hitter, striking out 12. Krista Rangel provided some offense with a two-run homer. Guerin improved to 18-4 on the year with the victory.
Illiana Christian 10, Grant Park 0: Allie Cable had two RBI as visiting Illiana Christian (23-3) won the nonconference game in five innings. Vikings pitcher Jocelyn Oppenhuis (17-3) went the distance, giving up four hits and striking out seven.
Lake Zurich 2, Stevenson 0: Katie Buczynski pitched a two-hitter, fanning six, as the Bears (20-3, 12-0) made two first-inning runs stand up.
Marian Catholic 1, Providence Catholic 0: Rebecca Gray went 3-for-3 and scored a run in the bottom of the sixth in propelling Marian Catholic (19-5, 10-3) to the East Suburban Catholic Conference win in Chicago Heights. Gray (11-3) also pitched a complete game, giving up four hits and striking out eight.
Marist 17-9, Fenwick 0-1 Alyssa Thompson pitched a pair of one-hitters and totaled 17 strikeouts overall as host Marist (20-8, 12-3) swept the East Suburban Catholic Conference doubleheader. Thompson added a home run and four RBI in the four-inning opener, while Ashley Nowdomski provided a two-run shot in the second game for the RedHawks.
Mundelein 5, Warren 2: Mundelein scored four times in the fifth and once in the sixth to take a North Suburban Lake decision from Warren. Leslie Harshey outpitched Jessica Capko and got the win. Mundelein (14-14 overall, 6-6 in the NSC Lake) got three hits from Sarah Clauser, and two from both Capko and Alex Booker.
Naperville Central 1, Glenbard North 0: Natalie Wunderlich (13-4) earned the DuPage Valley win for the Redhawks (15-5, 7-3). She struck out five in the complete game victory.
Nazareth 4, Carmel 2: Shannon Cawley struck out seven to earn the victory for Nazareth (12-9). Sara Sedlacek went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Roadrunners.
Oak Forest 13, Hillcrest 3: Oak Forest (13-6) earned the nonconference victory over Hillcrest. Nicole Losito (2-0) got the win and had two runs with two RBI.
Plainfield South 2, Minooka 0: Plainfield South's (17-5) Alyssa Schrader earned the win while striking out five in a complete game.
Richards 8, Argo 0: Ashley Tenerelli and Annie Paolisso each had big games for the Bulldogs (13-9) as they shutout Argo. Tenerelli went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Paolisso went 2-for-5 with three RBI to lead the offense attack.
Riverside-Brookfield 2, Ridgewood 0: The Bulldogs' Emma Smith allowed four hits and struck out eight in the complete game shutout over Ridgewood. Riverside-Brookfield's Morgan Vogel had a double and an RBI and Dana Davidson had an RBI.
St. Ignatius 2, Mount Assisi 0: Ali Lenti went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI as St. Ignatius (12-9) earned the consolation bracket win in Lemont. Amanda Worthington also went 2-for-4 for the Wolfpack.
Shepard 10, Bremen 1: Gianna Sunta went 4-for-5 with three RBI as Shepard (16-8, 11-3) topped Bremen in South Suburban Blue action.
Stagg 12, Joliet 2: Liz Payonk went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs as host Stagg (18-6, 7-4) prevailed in the SouthWest Suburban Blue tilt in six innings. Emily Cikowski (2-for-3, RBI, two runs) and Carli Raisutis (2-for-3, RBI) also aided the Chargers' cause.
Taft 7, Young 6, 9 inn.: Christina Christopher struck out ten in nine innings of work as Taft (11-9, 8-4) edged Young in extra innings of Red North action. Gwen Anderson went 4-for-4 in the win.
T.F. South 11, Thornwood 0: Samantha Sciackitano hit a grand slam for T.F. South (18-4) as they shutout Thornwood. Krista Sufie went 2-for-3 with two runs and Susie Danielewski went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Tinley Park 3, Lemont 0: Stacie Bonezek blasted a two-run home run in guiding host Tinley Park (7-12-1, 6-8) to the South Suburban Blue triumph. Elle Gerdes (5-6) gave up four hits while pitching a complete game for the Titans.
Trinity 5, Mother McAuley 4: Monica Albano went 3-four-4 including a two-run homer giving Trinity (21-6) the edge over Mother McAuley. Laura Eichenold had three hits and three RBI.
Vernon Hills 4, Grant 0: Marci Pasquesi pitched a six-hitter, fanning three and walking none. Erin Christensen, Alyssa Dougherty and Pasquesi all went 2-for-4 for the division champs (25-3). The Cougars completed a perfect 12-0 run through the North Suburban Prairie and will host mighty Lake Zurich in the North Suburban Conference Championship game next Thursday.
Wauconda 19, Round Lake 3: Wauconda (17-8, 9-3) eased past North Suburban Prairie rival Round Lake. Cara Nance went 4-for-4 with three home runs and nine RBI.
Zion-Benton 8, Lake Forest 1: Sophomore Jessica Munda fanned 14, walked one and allowed five hits in pitching Zion-Benton (17-8 overall, 7-5 in the North Suburban Lake) to its seventh straight win. She fanned the side in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th innings. Freshman outfielder Shannon Lauret had three hits and scored three times, while Jennifer Lotz, Abby Hanson and Aleaha Hallgren each went 2-for-4 for the Zee-Bees.
