Top-ranked Loyola continued to have Mother McAuley's number on Monday, beating the Mighty Macs for third time this season.

This time, the Ramblers (35-2) rode the right arm of Devin Miller to 3-0 victory over McAuley in a Class 4A supersectional at Loyola University. Loyola plays Fremd in Friday's Class 4A semifinals at EastSide Centre in East Peoria.

“We knew they were a good team, but playing them before helped us,” said Miller, who raised her record to 26-2.

The Ramblers scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Molly Warner’s bases-loaded single drove home the only run Miller needed.

“I wanted to make sure I hit the ball to the right side,” Warner said.

Megan Edwards and Teresa Aguilar also had run-scoring hits.

Miller held McAuley to three hits and struck out 13.
