Malcolm Weaver and Mark Sullivan only got to play two quarters of Saturday's

Class 8A playoff opener in Wilmette.

And the two Loyola standouts made the most of it.

Weaver passed for two touchdowns and ran for another and Sullivan, recently

named the Defensive Player of the Year in the Chicago Catholic League Blue

Division, chalked up two more quarterbacks sacks as Loyola Academy

slaughtered Young 42-0.

Loyola improved to 9-1 and will face Fremd in the second round.

The Ramblers scored on six possessions in the first half. Weaver tallied on

a 24-yard run and also connected on two TD passes to Marquese Martin-Hayes

covering 40 and 15 yards in the first half.

Young finished 5-5.
