Wilmington gave wrestling coach Rob Murphy his 300th career win on Wednesday night, when the Wildcats swept a double dual from Plainfield Central (55-18) and Morris (39-36).

Plainfield Central earned a split by beating Morris 65-18.

Wilmington was led in the Plainfield Central match by 285-pounder Spencer Butler, who had a second-period pin, and 112-pounder Andy Rodawald, who scored a 31-second fall.

"Tonight we needed to show our strength and endurance," Murphy said.

Plainfield was led by 189-pounder Nana Aikains, who had a 57-second pin against Morris and 1:11 fall against Wilmington.

"I am proud of our effort that all the kids showed tonight," acting Wildcats coach Jim Campisi said. "There is room for improvement and tomorrow we will go to the weight room and begin working on those areas."

Against Morris, Wilmington had pins by Jason Conlin, Steve Laramitis, Alex Peterson, Butler and Rodawald.

Morris coach Jon Lanning was proud of his team, especially how the younger wrestlers stepped up. "Wilmington is a very tough team and they fight for what they have," Lanning said.
