Strickland does it all for Titans

John Strickland technically did not account for a single point in Glenbrook South's 30-0 victory over Waukegan on Saturday, but the senior's impact was most definitely felt all game long.
Strickland ran for a game-high 161 yards and had two interceptions as the Titans stormed past the Bulldogs. While those numbers are good, the senior took the most pride in a jaw-dropping hit he handed out to Waukegan running back Mark Jones midway through the third quarter.
As Jones slipped into the secondary on an end-around, Strickland stepped up from his safety position, squared up and plowed right into him, lifting Jones into the air before tackling him to the ground.
"That sets the tone for every play for the whole game," Strickland said. "We make sure when we go on defense that they don't want to play us, that they're scared to come out.
"We're just setting the tone that we're not going to let up on anybody, and no matter what, easy game or not, we're always going to go hard and play our best."
On offense Strickland formed a dangerous one-two combination in the backfield with Kyle Kwasniewski, who put the Titans (4-2) on the board first with a four-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He added a 14-yard TD in the fourth quarter and finished with 101 yards.
Matt Jenkins also threw a five-yard score to TJ Gosse and Alex Leet added a six-yard TD late.
Darien Green led Waukegan (3-3) with 78 rushing yards.
