After going winless last season in the Central Suburban League South, Glenbrook South remained undefeated in the conference this year with a 2-1 victory over Waukegan Thursday night in Glenview.

The Titans (7-4-3, 2-0) scored first, tallying the game's only first-half goal into a stiff wind. Branden McGarrity scored with 32:02 remaining in the first half off Luke Harrison's assist when McGarrity beat a defender rushing to the net and got off a left-footed, low line drive past goalkeeper Eric Garcia. The goal was McGarrity's fifth of the season.

"We have a more positive feeling than last year," McGarrity said. "We're a lot closer. At the end of last season there was a drop off. I think there was less effort. Every game this year has been 100 percent (effort)."

Harrison scored his team-leading ninth goal with a left-footed shot with 28:20 to go in the second half.

Waukegan (5-4-2, 1-1) spoiled David Abiera's shutout bid with 8:41 to go when Eric Baxcajay kicked a free kick out of Abiera's hands before the senior goalkeeper could maintain possession.
