Vernon Hills extended its shutout steak to six games with a 48-0

victory at Wauconda in NSC Prairie action on Saturday.

"The most impressive thing is how we keep at it," said two-way star DaVaris

Daniels, who confirmed he has chosen to play at Notre Dame next year. "We're

not used to giving up big yardage. But when teams get first downs, we bounce

back quick. And once we get a stop, it's just one after another."

Brian Palmer rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. Marcus

Bradford scored on an eight-yard run for the Cougars (6-0, 4-0).

Daniels had a 32-yard touchdown run and returned a blocked field goal for a

touchdown in the third quarter. Evan Spencer, who's headed to Ohio State, returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown.

The Bulldogs (1-5, 0-3) got as close as the No. 20 Cougars' 26-yard line in the

second quarter, but just couldn't find a way to break through on a cold,

windy afternoon.

Vernon Hills has out-scored its opponents 290-0 on the

season.
