New Trier 10, Warren 7: In a game plagued by penalties and lackluster offenses, visiting New Trier scored the winning touchdown with 21 seconds to play Friday night at Warren. John Nykaza plunged over from the one-yard line to give the Trevians a 10-7 nonconference win.

"Defensively we played with a lot of passion," said New Trier coach Dan Starkey.

Warren's new quarterback Bob Boesch had his first pass taken to the house by Mitch Munda. The 41-yard catch gave the No. 11 Blue Devils a quick 7-0 lead. Scott Schoder's 25-yard field goal cut the Warren lead to 7-3.
