The margin of victory on Saturday for the Walther Lutheran football team easily could have been much more than 41 points.
The Broncos (2-1, 1-0) scored all of their points in the first quarter in a 41-0 win over Luther North in the Private School League opener in Melrose Park.
"We put all our subs in pretty early and just ran dives," Walther coach Bruce Tuomi said.
Brandon Sims, who had 101 yards rushing on seven carries, scored touchdowns in the first quarter on runs of 29, one, 42 and 15 yards. The fifth TD on the ground for Walther came on a 15-yard run by Elgin Swanigan.
Walther quarterback David Tuomi got into the scoring column with a 41-yard pass to Swanigan.
