Inclement weather delayed a game between Vocational and King for 25 minutes, but the Cavaliers seemed to handle the elements better than the Jaguars as they earned a 40-8 victory Thursday at Gately Stadium.
Vocational quarterback Sam Williams (10 carries, 135 yards) scored three touchdowns on runs of six, seven, and 87 yards. Shayron Smith scored twice, once on a one-yard dive and again on a 24-yard pitch. Jamal Holman ended the scoring for Vocational on a three-yard run.
Chrision Rasberry scored late in the fourth quarter for King.
“This is one of the worst down pours that I have seen in quite a while,” Vocational coach Chuck Chambers said.
