Bobby Smith, of Tinley Park, led all individuals with a 1,349 series to capture the Andrew Sectional title at Orland Bowl in Orland Park.
Top team honors went to Sandburg, which posted a score of 6,033. Also moving on to the state tournament was Oak Forest, which placed second at 5,968.
BOYS BOWLING
Nick Zarack had a team-best 1,328 series for Sandburg, which enabled him to place second overall, one spot ahead of teammate Jason Cleveland (1,301). Auggie Arundel (1,194) and Andy Jerrick (1,150) also starred for the Eagles.
Oak Forest was paced by Mike Hannafin (1,296), whose performance enabled him to finish fourth. Also contributing for the Bengals were Brett Powers (1,246), Brian Vanderjack (1,208) and Gianni Semorile (1,096).
Andrew (5,890), which placed third, produced an individual state qualifier in Ron Tucker (1,262), who was fifth overall.
Tinley Park (5,660) was fourth in the 12-team field, with the next five spots held by T.F. South (5,558), Bremen (5,517), Hillcrest (5,336), Lincoln-Way North (5,267) and Eisenhower (5,180).
Hinsdale South Sectional
Reavis won the team title with a pinfall total of 6,242 at Willowbrook Bowling Lanes. Runner-up Oak Lawn also advanced to the state meet with a score of 5,981.
Jon Kunz led the way for Reavis, posting a mark of 1,323 that was second only to Matt Peters (1,356) of Hinsdale South. Scott Dever (1,292) was fourth overall for the Rams and teammate Tom Kuba (1,281) finished fifth.
Tim Fischer's 1,256 series paced Oak Lawn, which also received contributions from Jim Mallek (1,250), Bob Reynolds (1,244) and Tony Renteria (1,126).
Qualifying for the state level on an individual basis was Argo's Ramiro Idrogo (1,319), who placed third.
Hinsdale South (5,976) was third in the team standings, with Stagg (5,935) and Argo (5,858) completing the top five in the 12-team field.
Plainfield South Sectional
Lockport (5,727) qualified for the state meet after finishing second behind Oswego (6,232) at Town & Country Bowl in Joliet. Lincoln-Way Central (5,720) was third, followed by Minooka (5,683), Bolingbrook (5,656), Lemont (5,614) and Lincoln-Way East (5,603) in the 13-team field.
Mike Provancal had a team-high 1,207 series for Lockport. Sam Esposito (1,195), Kyle Anderson (1,152), Jake Zuklic (950) and John Beissmann (905) chipped in as well for the Porters.
Lemont's Joey Petzoldt advanced to the state level on an individual basis by virtue of his 1,288 series. Oswego's Mikey Preston was the overall champion with a score of 1,394.
GIRLS BOWLING
South Suburban Blue Meet
Jamie Budziak (1,215) placed first individually as Lemont (5,272) won the team title at Centennial Lanes in Tinley Park. Bremen (4,933) was second, followed by Tinley Park (4,796), Oak Forest (4,652) and Hillcrest (3,544).
Overall, Lemont produced four of the top 10 bowlers. Annette Dzielski (1,052) was third, Nicole Chlipala (1,044) finished fourth and Fallon Jarboe (996) was ninth.
Tinley Park's Lia Armour (1,076) placed second and Oak Forest's Ashley Zofkie (1,031) was fifth. The next three spots went to Bremen teammates Jenna Sinish (1,024), Laura Potts (1,017) and Amanda Lorz (1,007). Tinley Park's Shannon Snielgolski (986) came in 10th.
SouthWest Suburban Meet
Lockport's pinfall total of 5,728 enabled it to win first place at Orland Bowl in Orland Park. The Porters also produced the leading individual in Caitlin Hofmann, who bowled a 289 game as part of a 1,263 series.
Sandburg (5,623) was second, with the rest of the field consisting of Joliet Township (5,598), Andrew (4,936), Bolingbrook (4,876), Stagg (4,738), Lincoln-Way North (4,528), Lincoln-Way Central (4,432) and Lincoln-Way East (4,420).
Ashley Bright, of Joliet Township, finished second individually with a 1,250 series. Sandburg's Jen Harder (1,245) came in third, Lockport's Mollie Sloyan (1,219) finished fourth and Sandburg's Erin Czuprynski (1,186) came in fifth.
Stagg's Lisa Karaus was ninth (1,128) and Lockport's Amanda Price placed 10th (1,124).

Simone Law had 14 points and 10 rebounds as Marian Catholic (20-3, 6-0) posted the East Suburban Catholic Conference win in Chicago Heights. Emily Kobel added 10 points for the Spartans.
Providence Catholic (11-11, 2-5) was led by Katie Hannemann, who netted 15 points.

Oak Park-River Forest Invitational
Fred Moses (215) and John Grubisich (285) won titles for Argo, which accumulated 149 points in placing fifth out of eight teams. Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead won the team crown with 172 1 / 2 points. Three other wrestlers finished third for Argo, the group consisting of Dominic Cialoni (112), Amador Rosales (160) and Joe Shue (171).
BOYS SWIMMING
Shepard Invitational
Arya Mohaimani and Matt Kmiecik each won two events for Andrew, which totaled 422 points in capturing the team crown. Oak Forest (287) was second and Oak Lawn (187) third among the 11 competing squads.
Mohaimani triumphed in the 100-yard backstroke (59.56 seconds) and 200 individual medley (2 minutes, 6.64 seconds), while Kmiecik prevailed in the 100 free (50.67) and 200 free (1:51.27).
Other individual event winners for the Thunderbolts were Mike Wagonblott in the 50 free (23.25), Charles Boutros in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.11) and Shane Gurren in the 500 free (5:23.15). In addition, Andrew was a winner in the 200 free relay (1:33.64), 200 medley relay (1:48.05) and 400 free relay (3:27.88).
Oak Forest's Cullen Stine posted the fastest time in the 100 butterfly (58.67) and Argo's Matt Mogielnicki placed first in diving (343.80 points).
Lockport Invitational
Lockport placed first in a pair of relays and accumulated 372 points in winning the team title ahead of St. Ignatius (363).
The champion Porters triumphed in the 200 free relay as Kevin Moran, Patrick Cavanaugh, Michael Pedroni and Jake Welch combined to post a time of 1:29.39. Lockport also won the 400 free relay (3:17.18) behind Pedroni, Welch, Larry Formosa and Moran.
Moran and Formosa each contributed a second-place finish as well, with Moran placing second in the 100 free (48.69) and Formosa the runner-up in the 100 fly (53.25).
Stagg was second in the 200 medley relay as Kevin Skender, Brandon Hadhazy, Nick Vasdekas and Kyle Workman clocked in at 1:42.11.
Stagg was fifth overall (218), and Lincoln-Way Central (138) took eight.
Evergreen Park Invitational
Reavis totaled 210 points in placing second behind Bradley (241). Evergreen Park (201) was third in the eight-team meet.
The runner-up Rams were led by Khaled Almousa, who triumphed in the 200 free (2:03). Reavis also was a winner in the 400 free relay (3:41.30).
Evergreen Park's top performer was Jeff Easterhouse, who won the 50 free (24.15) and 100 free (53.43). Walt Sabbath added a victory in the 500 free (5:33.13) for the Mustangs.
Ryan Meyer, of Richards, prevailed in the 100 back (57.09) and St. Rita's Mitch Condon emerged victorious in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.56).
St. Rita had 142 points in finishing fifth. The final three spots were held by Richards (114), Mount Carmel (103) and Thornton (38).
Hinsdale Central Invitational
Lincoln-Way East totaled 193 points in finishing third behind New Trier (505) and Hinsdale Central (327). Kevin Kubik was second in the 200 free (1:45.65) for Lincoln-Way East, while Mike Reilly came in third in the 50 free (23.03). The Griffins also placed second in the 200 free relay (1:32.59), which consisted of Kubik, Steve Lederer, Nate Puskaric and Mike Reilly.
GIRLS GYMNASTICS
York Invitational
Krystyn Misheck, of Sandburg/Stagg, was the all-around champion with a score of 38.200 over four events. Her performance enabled the Eagles/Chargers to win the team title with a mark of 146.925. Hinsdale Central (143.825) was second. Lincoln-Way co-op (134.725) was fourth among the 11 competing squads.
Misheck's total included first-place finishes on the balance beam (9.750) and floor exercise (9.650) and a second-place showing on the vault (9.800). Her teammate Alexa Messina (36.475) was second in the all-around, while Lincoln-Way co-op's Megan Weller (36.350) tied for third. Fifth place went to Sandburg/Stagg's Kaitlyn Nash (36.225).
Andrew (122.975), which finished 10th, was led by Keri Eberhardt (35.550), who was ninth individually.
Ciara Adkins (33.500) came in 17th for Homewood-Flossmoor (115.400), which placed 11th.

Mike Johnstone, a St. Laurence graduate, scored a team-high 16 points for visiting St. Xavier (10-11, 0-2) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Brad Birton totaled 17 points as South Suburban (18-4) posted the win in Palos Hills.
Roy Beard, a Rich Central graduate, led Moraine Valley (17-4) with 22 points.

Jason Genova (9 rebounds) and Stagg alum Marty Strus (7 rebounds) registered 21 points each for visiting Lewis (11-7, 5-4) in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Providence Catholic product Erin Hannemann netted 27 points in pacing visiting St. Xavier (16-3, 2-0) to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory. Marian Catholic alums Kathlyn McClain and Alex Barone tacked on 19 and 14 points, respectively, for the Cougars.
Moraine Valley 67 South Suburban 54
Oak Lawn graduate Julie Tracy scored 13 points as Moraine Valley (17-4) recorded the win. Sharnita Lloyd (12 points), an Eisenhower graduate, aided the cause. Kemi Rotibi, a Hillcrest alum, had 17 points and 11 rebounds for South Suburban (15-6).
