Host Rebels win inaugural invite

T.F. South's Loran Pasko won at No. 1 singles and teammates Melissa

McNish and Kym Tisder won at No. 1 doubles as the host Rebels nipped

Lincoln-Way Central for the title at the inaugural Grey Invitational

Saturday.

T.F. South won three of six divisions at the seven-team tournament.

The Rebels beat the Knights 31-29 for the team title. Jenny Le at No.

2 singles was T.F. South's other winner as the Rebels finished second

at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

"This should give me a strong boost," said Pasko, who has lost only

two matches this season. "This will push me to keep getting better and

keep getting stronger."

Pasko went 6-0 in the round-robin tournament and said her closest

matches were against Lincoln-Way Central's Jessi Glennon and Downers

South's Hayley Stankiewicz.

McNish and Tisder also went 6-0, but hung on to beat L-W Central's

Jessica and Catrina Cinnapoli, 21-6, 21-16.

"We talked when we played," McNish said. "We strategized and we hit hard."
