Warren's defense forced turnovers on five consecutive Stevenson possessions in the second half, as the Blue Devils rallied from a halftime deficit to humble the Patriots 50-25 here Friday in a North Suburban Conference Lake Division football game.
Stevenson went ahead 25-22 on a 25-yard touchdown run by Matt Harris with 6:57 left in the third quarter.
On the Pats' remaining possessions, Warren produced an interception, a fumble recovery, an interception, an interception, and yet another interception as the Devils blew the game wide open.
Warren is now 7-1 overall and finished 6-0 in the division. It plays winless Round Lake next week.
Stevenson is 4-4 and must beat 1-7 Mundelein next Friday to make the playoffs.
Stevenson led 19-14 at halftime on Friday, but a two-yard TD run by Tom Lindal gave Warren a 22-19 lead. After Harris' TD run, it was all Warren.
The Devils took the lead for good on a 13-yard run by Mark Liao, and then piled on the points with fourth-quarter TDs from Tyreese Woodard, Aaron Montgomery on a 43-yard interception return, and a 14-yard run by Lindal.
For the game, Lindal rushed 10 times for 62 yards and 2 scores. Mike Liao carried 21 times for 129 yards, and Warren QB Zach Shaw completed 8 of 16 passes for 206 yards and 2 TDs.
Stevenson QB Zach Wojcik had a tough night against the area's best defense, completing 11 of 28 passes for 165 yards with 4 picks.
