HAMMOND -- First, Bishop Noll's troops didn't stand a prayer of a chance at Andrean's Father Eckart Field in last week's inter-diocesan downfall.
Then, what was scheduled as a home date for Friday's Greater South Shore Conference opener had to be shifted to Morton's Zlotnik Field due to an electrical failure.
But aside from the many distractions, the Warriors found their hands full in a stunning 25-13 loss to a young but potent South Central team.
"This was tough with all the distractions and I do want to say a big thank-you to (Morton AD) Roy Richards," Noll coach Mike Juscik said. "We shot ourselves in the foot and our offense took awhile to get going."
However, the Satellites (1-2, 1-0) had little trouble starting their ground game with a forceful offense attack.
Freshman sensation Ethan Biggs rushed for a career night of 286 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns.
On the evening, SC racked up 386 yards compared to the Warriors' 188. But the clock was in total control of the Satellites, who mounted several sustained drives.
"That's what they do, they're big up front and got their yards, but I told our kids that we have to come out every game and play like we did in tonight's second half," added Juscik.
After trailing 13-0 at halftime, Noll made a game of it when Scott Upshaw capped an eight-play drive with a 4-yard TD to cut the gap to 13-7.
But South Central gambled on fourth down near midfield and would go on to score an insurance TD with 9:55 remaining on Myles Sims' short toss run.
"This was a great night for South Central football," said a pleased first-year coach Jud Tolmen. "Our line and our fullback had to have been doing an outstanding job because Noll was stacking nine men on the line against us."
For the Warriors (1-2, 0-1), Upshaw finished with 82 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
