Robeson blanks King

The rivalry between Robeson and King was a one-sided affair as Robeson claimed a 44-0 victory Thursday afternoon at Stagg Stadium in the Land of Lincoln conference.
The Raiders remain perfect (6-0 3-0) behind a two-headed passing attack of Juwane Pipkins and Jarvis Wright. The senior Pipkins was 10 of 17 for 226 yards and three touchdowns, a 12-yard score to twin brother Duwane, a 77-yard pass to Romaro Jones, and a seven-yard touchdown pass to Brian Maqqddim.
Wright, a junior, threw two touchdown passes of nine yards and seven yards to Cameron Franklin.
Wright finished with 7 of 17 for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
Michael Solomon returned an interception 45 yards.
The Raiders built a 36-0 lead at half time and never looked back.
"This was a total team effort, an all around good game," said Robeson coach Fabray Collins. "We have a great combination at quarterback, Pipkins is a senior, but we have the luxury to bring in a player like Wright and go with the hot hands."
The Jaguars fell to 1-2 in the conference and 3-3 overall.
King coach Lonnie Williams said his team needs to grow up fast. "We are very young. But we can't keep using that as an excuse. There's some good players on this team and it's time for them to step up."
