Mike Despinich caught two touchdown passes and the visiting Dukes (4-1, 2-0) were able to overcome six turnovers to defeat the host Panthers (3-2, 1-1) 31-8.

York Running Back Ken Bosenberg (64 yards rushing) opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Despinich then caught touchdown passes on consecutive possessions in the second quarter to widen the advantage to 21-0. A field goal in the closing minutes of the second quarter led to a 24-0 halftime advantage.

Proviso West Running Back Jamaal Payton scored the lone touchdown for the Panthers on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter. Wide Receiver Craig Lottie reeled in six receptions for 62 yards in a losing effort.

On the ensuing kickoff after the Panther score, Jake Rzeszutko scampered 97 yards for a touchdown to close out the scoring.

York relied heavily on an aerial attack that was as effective as it was wild. Quarterback Andrew Iwaszkiewicz tallied 143 yards through the air, completing 17 of 33 passing attempts, but also threw six interceptions.

Contributing to the errant throws was heavy pressure from the Proviso West line, especially Deonte Eiland. Eiland ended the game with a sack and 3 tackles for loss.

Jordan Preuss had eight catches for 66 yards for York.
