No regrets for Knights' Pearlman

It ended sooner than Prospect coach Brent Pearlman would have liked. But following his team's 14-7 loss to Lake Zurich Saturday in the Class 7A playoffs, Pearlman was not looking back.
"I will deal with this being my last game on a different day," said Pearlman, who is stepping down after 12 years as head coach of the Knights. "I just want to make sure that our kids feel good about themselves and what they accomplished."
"Our seniors played with tremendous heart. It was the old Prospect hunger and they got it rolling again. I could not have have felt good leaving without that."
Pearlman took over a program in 1999 that had won on 11 games in the previous 10 years. In the next 12 seasons, Pearlman led the Knights to a 104-34 record with three state championships and 10 playoff appearances.
Pearlman has not said if he will return to coaching next season. There is opening within District 214 at Rolling Meadows after Doug Milsaps resigned last week.
"Right now I just want to relax," Pearlman said.
