Frederick takes 3rd at competition

Skating against some of the best age-group competition from across the United States and Canada, Park Ridge Speed Skating Club member Tamara Frederick placed third overall in her category.

Frederick participated in the Intermediate Women's Division March 14-16 at the North American Short Track Speed Skating Championships at the Pettit Ice Center in West Allis, Wis.

Frederick, who now trains in Marquette, Mich. and attends Northern Michigan University, won the 500-meter race with a time of 47.72 seconds.

Denton Frederick, also a member of the PRSSC, took ninth place overall in the Junior Men's Division. He finished ninth in the 1500 event with a time of 2:48.
