Coach Kyle Jones' second-seeded team edged Northridge Prep 1-0 on a goal by Zack Young Saturday and advanced to the regional title game for the first time in school history.
That win was the 11th for North Shore and stretched its winning string to nine in a row entering Tuesday's scheduled championship game.
The Raiders shattered the previous single season school record for wins (8) by defeating Northridge Prep 2-0 and Elgin Academy 5-1 to wrap up the regular season.
Goals by Young and Matt Thomas lifted the Raiders to a sweet win over Northridge Prep to break the mark, and then a hat trick by Peter Callahan and goals by Chris White and Ivan Ramirez accounted for all of the scoring versus Elgin.
Saturday, Young scored in the 58th minute and goalie Joe Tepper produced a key save with about five minutes remaining.
"That's the first time we've ever won a semifinal game, and that was a big deal for us," Jones said. "I was getting a little nervous because we hadn't scored, but we were playing well. We just tried to keep playing our game, and then Zack put it away for us."
