Senior running back Owen Williams scored six first-half touchdowns as Lake Forest celebrated Homecoming and the Great Lakes Navy base’s centennial with a dominating 56-12 win over North Chicago on Friday night.

The Scouts (4-1) will host Stevenson next Friday, while North Chicago (1-4) hosts Wauconda.

Williams rushed 10 times for 118 yards and four touchdowns, and caught two passes for 80 yards and two more scores in the game’s first 24 minutes.

Lake Forest led 42-6 at halftime.

Williams’ touchdowns were run runs of 1-, 10-, 65- and 1-yard. His touchdown catches were thrown by Andrew Clifford (30 yards) and Jordan Beck (50 yards).

Williams did not play in the second half.

North Chicago scored in the second quarter on a 6-yard pass from Arnold Shead to Nigel Williams.

But Lake Forest got the game into 40-point, running-clock mode on its first possession of the second half.

This was the second six-touchdown game of Williams’ career, as he had six scores last year in a win over Mundelein.

“I didn’t have to do too much tonight,” he said. “The line did a great job blocking. This was the best Homecoming game I’ve had in three years. It’s an awesome feeling to have and a great win for us.”

Williams knows his team still has four tough games and must win one to make the playoffs.

“We have the Big 4 left (Stevenson, Warren, Lake Zurich and Libertyville). We need to have good weeks of practice and stay focused.”

Each team scored once during the running-clock portion of the game. Lake Forest’s TD came on an 11-yard by Stephen Cirame and North Chicago’s came on a 38-yard pass from Shead to Davonte Brown.

For the game, Lake Forest’s QB numbers were: Beck 8-for-12, 106 yards; and Clifford 2-for-2 35 yards, two touchdowns.

Shead was 18-for-33 passing for 233 yards and two scores.
