DaVaris Daniels and Evan Spencer didn't disappoint on opening

night.

The Vernon Hills stars combined for four touchdowns as the hosts

cruised past Niles West 45-0 on Friday night.

Daniels ran in a score from seven yards out and broke free on a 53-yard TD

on a wide receiver screen pass from senior quarterback Chris Argianas.

Spencer had a 25-yard touchdown run and a 61-yard score on another screen

pass this time from junior quarterback Steve Nelson.

Senior running back Brian Palmer also added 137 yards and a touchdown on 14

carries for the Cougars (1-0).

After the game, Daniels confirmed he already knows where he wants to play in

college. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver added that he doesn't know whether

he'll make an announcement in the next couple weeks or months.

"I just have get it to where it's the right feeling 100 percent sure,"

said Daniels, one of the top prospects in the country. "Right now, I'm at

about 98 percent. I want to wait for sure that there's no place I'd rather

be."
