SOCCER: The Nazareth boys soccer team may not have ended the regular season the way it was hoping, but the Roadrunners already achieved two of their three main goals.

Nazareth lost to Benet 5-0 Saturday to fall to 7-11-1 overall and finish 1-8 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.

"We wanted to better last year's record (6-14) and get a conference win," Nazareth coach Doug Hunt said. "The third goal is still out there and that's to get at least one win in the postseason."

Nazareth is seeded seventh in the Class 2A Riverside-Brookfield Sectional and will play host to No. 11 seed Montini in the Nazareth Regional semifinals Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The Roadrunners also lost games to the top-two teams in the ESCC, falling to St. Viator 5-0 Oct. 8 and St. Joseph 6-0 Oct. 6.
