Zach Till and Lake Zurich had its offense in high gear as the No. 15 Bears rolled past host Mundelein 41-7 Friday.

Till had a productive night, completing 9-of-16 passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns.

“We knew what we had to do on offense,” said Till, who also rushed for 51 yards on 10 carries. “For the most part we got it done. They had alot of guys in the box, so we saw the passing was open.”

Till combined with Jack Lynn (four receptions, 109 yards) on a pair of passes over the middle for 27 and 49 yards as the Bears jumped to a 14-0 lead.

Connor Schrader capped a 12-play, 86-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown plunge. Till then hooked up with Jake Stauner on a four-yard touchdown pass with 8.1 seconds left in the half as Lake Zurich (4-1, 3-0 North Suburban Lake) led 28-0.

The Bears sent the game to a running clock late in the third quarter on a four-yard run by Mike Shield a one-yard run by Schrader.

The Bears defense, led by Lynn, Rocky Triggiano, Dan O’Connor, Colton Moskal and Taylor Coleman, limited Mundelein (0-5, 0-3) to 72 yards in the first three quarters. The Mustangs tallied in the final quarter on a 22-yard pass from Gable Leppert to Drew Malcolm.

“Our focus was to play Lake Zurich football,” Lake Zurich coach Bryan Stortz said. “We wanted to play hard from start to finish and get better as we go. We did that tonight.”
