Morgan Park (5-1, 3-0) coach Lexie Spurlock said his team is finally starting to play like he thought they would at the beginning of the year. Mather found out exactly what he was referring to as Morgan Park claimed a 68-0 Prairie State victory Friday evening at Gately Stadium.

Quarterback Dae' Shaun Hurley led the way going 8 of 9 for 178 yards and four touchdowns. Hurley tossed two touchdown passes to Javan Bright of 35 and 56 yards. He threw a 27-yard strike to Dareil Lee-Crowder and a nine yard score to Brandon Peppers.

Hurley also added a 38-yard touchdown run.

Reserve sophomore quarterback Andre Newell connected with Desmond Henderson on a 65-yard touchdown completion.

Running back Charles Bournes scored twice on runs of 28 and 14 yards and Peppers finished the scoring out with a one-yard run.

The Mustang defense held Mather to 76 total yards forcing three fumbles.

"We are really clicking. We have improved our fundamentals offensively and defensively," said Spurlock. "We are running the football, pass blocking and catching the football."

Mather (1-5, 0-3) coach Yanko Jordanof said his team got intimidated. "They showed why they are one of the better programs in the city. We are a young team and our youth showed today."
